It's alright

Been here for the past 7 months. Moved here with my boyfriend because we wanted to get away from the rowdy UTSA parties. That didn't happen. There's loud parties and rowdy kids driving around in loud cars/bikes. Recently someone got evicted right next door for underage drinking and smoking pot.
The apartment claims to keep everything very clean and they do have trash pick up mon/wed/fri but they say that they will charge for trash bags on balconies etc. I see trash bags everywhere. I even saw three tires on someones balcony the other day.
Maintenance is very nice and they try to stay on top of everything, however, the gates seem to be broken more than they work (because people ram into them).
Neighbors are snobby. I have a dog that is very well behaved and I do pick up after him but she decided to call management and tell them that I didn't pick up after my dog. I dare anyone to try to see if I do not pick up after my dog. I was very upset. Management was very polite about it.
The apartments themselves are beautiful but the buildings are settling, so two of our doors don't close properly and our front door is very hard to lock (even after talking to management). We have a crack in one of our walls leading up from our window due to this.
Our lease is up in 5-6 months and we'll be leaving. Management is nice enough but quite frankly we just don't like the neighbors.

don't live by the woods if you are on the first floor, my fried just got robbed there and they came through the back window facing the woods. Noone saw/heard anything and it was during the day. The management was less than sympathetic as well...and while they fixed the back door without charging, the manager was nowhere to be seen and noone came by to check and see if everything was okay. When my friend tried to move they were very dogdy and my friend took off 2 days of work early to see the manager, even after he called to tell her he was coming by, and she was no where. I hear all apartment places kinda suck, but I would reconsider living by the woods. Plus you get rattle snakes.

Thanks for the response. My unit is in building 11 on the third floor and it faces the courtyard. I plan on installing an alarm system anyways which will be armed everytime I am away even if I just step out for a min. So far I like the community. I guess we will see what happens. Not sure if you still live there but if you do or your friend still lives there hopefully she or he will have some better luck.
