My wife and I moved out a few months ago. We talked to them after moving out and asked if we owed anything. They said we would be contacted after the cleaning evaluation. All good. We had two pets, and couldn't imagine it going over the 500 dollar pet deposit.
I got a call from collection agency, claiming I owed over 600 dollars. I asked if that was after the pet deposit and was told it was a "pet fee". This was the first time I have heard it called this.
They NEVER CONTACTED US FOR THIS FEE. Just handed it over to a CA. AVOID THESE PEOPLE.

Well you are not the only resident screwed by them for a "pet fee". I tried to explain to them that it was a pet deposit and even had the check that I wrote out to them stating "pet deposit" on the memo line. But the smart-ass apartment manager stated that on my lease it says "pet fee". Actually all the staff are -------. I told them THAT IT IS VERY ------ OF THEM TO CHARGE A FEE LIKE THAT. I was stuck with a 350 fee after I moved out. Well I took my time making monthly payments. I didnt give them the pleasure of taking all my money at once.
