Lived in High Key for several years. Right next door to fire station and police station. Near great shopping, movie theater, AFB, etc. Great location. Also, Live Oak Park is awesome! I see lots of reviews of the Management. Sure, the manager is old, but she has been the manager FOR EVER! We had no problems with her and when we run into her, she still knows our names!!! and this is 5 years later.
Rent is Cheap, Cable and Water are free, its a little outdated but WORTH the savings. All these negative posts are from late-rent payers and trouble makers...the envy of any manager.

I also am currently living at High Key, I have been here for exactly 1 year now. I am a single mother of 2 and with the police and fire station close by, I feel safe. I have never had a problem with noise or anything else for that matter. However, I also have had issues with the management. The manager can be extremely rude, I have complained to the corporate office about her, and all they have to say is I need to find a place to live that would be compatable with me. I am not ghetto, I may be a single mom, but I have ALWAYS paid my rent on time, I expect to be treated with respect, not like the gum on the bottom of her shoe. I like many others love this place, it is quiet and safe, and I have learned to avoid the manager and try to deal with her assistant as much as possible. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon, I just stay the hell away from Maryjo and deal only with Patty. Patty is very sweet.

I do agree with most of your post but i am offended by your quick judgements about all the negative reviews being from "late renters and trouble makers" I will have you know that i keep to myself and have never paid my rent late and i still have very unplesaant run-ins with the manager. Please keep your sarcasm to yourself; it's no wonder you like the manager.

You must be like MaryJo Morales. She is pure evil and prejudice like hell. She is quick to judge and hate on those she dislikes. Owners must be prejudice too since they keep her around as they approve of such unprofessional and ghetto behavior.
