I have lived in the Highlands for about 6 months now, I think that it is a very safe, friendly atmosphere. I have talked to all my neighbors around me and we have a good realationship. The managment is pretty good, they are all friendly. Maintnance is constantly fixing whatever may be wrong. Crime is next to none. I am a student at UTSA and it is a great place for me. There are a few families around but not many, it's pretty quiet but there is come partying going on. I can tell you first hand, the managment is ok with parties until they get "too crazy" (i.e. fights or noise outside apartment.) Parking can be a hastle at night, esspecially friday nights. The grounds are kept very clean. I could go on and on about this place. I would recomend this apartment complex to anyone.
