I moved into the Highlands because it was nice and close to UTSA.

As for the apartment itself, I love it. It's very clean and nicely laid out. The rent is a bit expensive but there is a free shuttle if you go to UTSA, so that helps to save gas.

As for neighbors, they are a pain in the butt. I'm a college kid and I can honestly say that I hate other college kids. They are very inconsiderate here. My neighbors dogs are constantly barking, I hear doors slam a lot. But the WORST, absolute worst, is the music. As I write this review, I can hear a few guys outside blaring music from their car while they hang out/work on the car. The music isn't the worst part, it's the BASS. I can feel it pounding on my floor, it's even shaking some of my collectibles at times. It's so loud. It happens all the time. I complained to the office once and the music got turned down, but def. not off. I could still hear it very well. It's very irritating and annoying. These neighbors have no respect for anyone but themselves.

I felt pretty safe but lonely, so I was going to get a dog, also for protection. I had the perfect dog picked out. A German Shepherd/Husky mix that was already housebroken and what not, and better yet, FREE! I started to adopt it and thought "Maybe I better check my pet deposit first." Good thing I did, $600.00 for one dog. That's ridiculous. It's like $350.00 if your dog is under 25 pounds but that's stupid. A dog is going to poop, chew, whatever no matter how big it is. Plus, I'm sure my dog would be much more well behaved than the stupid yappy small dogs next door. $600.00 is ridiculous for a perfectly trained dog. I didn't get my dream dog because of this high deposit.

If you don't mind lots of noise, move here because the apartment buildings are nice. Otherwise, stay away.

You live near a college campus so there would be...I don't know just a shot at the dark here...College Students?!?---Who for the same reasons as yours, have moved into this convenient location. The apartments here have plenty to offer. Security, convenience, and accommodation. As for the problems with your noisy neighbors...Have you confronted them yourself? Also when does the noise happen? Middle of day? Middle of night? I'm sure if you have a test coming up or have to study, you can just ask for a little less "noise". Also since the school is so near by, perhaps getting ALL your studying there might be nice. Leave the relaxing at home. I myself am a car wrencher and would much rather work on my car myself than take it to a shop. The cost savings are astronomical. Maybe if you learned how to do a little service on your car you can save some money and pay the dog fees. These apartments are great! The people are nice. The management is good. The college parties are expected. So really think before moving here.

I like it here. Its way overpriced but to see all the hot college sluts is a plus.
