Great place for those who like it quiet. I lived at UTSA's dorms for 4 years and sooner or later you just need your privacy. I've moved into the Hill fall of '08 and it's been good to me since. The buildings are old, the stairs are bound to collapse any day and you better like 5 layers of paint on your walls but remember; it's only renting. I got lucky with no leaks or major problems so just make sure to check your specific room before moving in. What made the Hill stand out to me is the developers didn't clear cut the entire area before building so these great, beautiful trees provide fantastic shade for your building (A/C $ saved). The buildings have steep roofs, red brick, plus the concrete's developed a good mossy layer, it all just kind of adds a European feel to the place. The ratio of college students is lower here which is great if you like to sleep. Management is friendly and helpful and the one time I had to call maintenance, 3:00 am was no problem. It's located in a business park that clears out at 5 which is good if you need a place to jog and don't like breathing exhaust. Overall there's nothing special or terrible about it, which, is exactly what you want out of an apartment, to not have to be thinking about it. Only complaint is the animals, it's like a shelter here. I don't hate pets but because the majority of humans are lazy idiots, on any day it's not raining this place is engulfed in dome of noxious poo-vapor, just pray you don't get a building on the downwind side. *General note: Haggle your rent increases!! Unless you got brand new carpet at your request there's nothing $20 extra about next year.
