Our time at HCV began well until our crazy neighbor moved in and began complaining about noise. We spoke to Trixie and did everything we could to make sure that we and our dog were not being obnoxious. Unfortunately we began getting complaints during times that we were not home or sleeping. We liked it here until Crazy moved in. Trixie is not the ----- she is made out to be but she is not the most sympathetic soul. She's sort of stern, but her office staff and maintenance has always been friendly, polite and professional with us and our issues.
I do not know what's up with the break-ins, but I always felt pretty safe in my apartment or jogging around Dugas at night. We never left things in our cars or left our doors unlocked.
The reason we are moving out is the reason we moved in. Our dog is a breed that is not commonly accepted by apartment complexes. HCV allows her breed and we liked the area. Our dog rarely barks, doesn't chew, doesn't destroy things while we are at work, is friendly with other people and dogs, and has even steadily improved her obedience behavior since we got here. Apparently our neighbor downstairs can hear her walk around and finds this and any other discernible sounds unacceptable. Trixie and Co. offered us a first floor apartment, but I have no desire to live on ground level and be any closer to break-ins, thefts, street noise and harassment so off we go to another house.
I would recommend HCV relative to the vast majority of other places on this side of town, but I would recommend that you live in the smaller section nearest the gate on the right. The pool is heinously loud at night, people have sex in the hot tub, and very FEW people control their kids in the pool area so BEWARE the flying Nerf balls, frisbees, and balls.

I??ve learned that break-ins and thievery happen in every neighborhood and apartment complex (even fancy-smancy ones). It??s best to invest the money to rent a garage if you can afford it and if one is available. I will be doing that from now on since my car was stolen from St. Tropez apartments!
