Worst Apartment Complex EVER!!

I've lived in several apartment complexes on the NE side of San Antonio and this has by far been the worst experience (and our previous complex had section 8!). I've complained on here for several things, the latest being we have a leak in our storage unit and with the rain we had a few weeks back, there is now mold growing on the ceiling and it looks like it will cave in soon - not to mention that it drips from the light socket in the ceiling. I have made several requets to have this fixed as I am unable to use my storage unit since I don't want my stuff destroyed yet I'm paying my rent - always on time - for something I cannot use. The most recent request to have the repair and mention of mold simply got an answer of "we can't make any repairs like that now" because corporate apparantly is working out a budget to get the complex renovated and they can't spend any money on repairs right now - WHAT'!'! Puh-lease - how long will that take'!'! The only thing they could offer - very snootily, I might add - was to assign us a new apartment. Okay, well, my lease ends in October, so no thank you, I don't want to move my stuff to another crappy apartment (that probably has a leak in it too) just to move it again in two months. I've had stuff get moldy from being in there and ruined and I know that water leaks are supposed to be covered under renters insurance (which I do have), but the apartment at least should offer to discount the rent a bit for not being able to use the dang thing.......but then I guess they'd have to reimburse every resident for the non-use of the horrid "amenities" they offer (green pools, poopy, grassy vollyball court, non-working gate, filthy, trashy playground, too small parking spaces, etc). Getting anything done by way of maintenence requets, whether verbal or written, is slugglish if at all. I can't believe I've stayed with this complex for so long, they seem to get worse every year as they turnaround maintenence & office workers - the complex is just falling apart and yet, the rent keeps going up - go figure!

I should also note that our ac wasn't working during the extreme heat of summer. My son got a heat rash before when we realized we had a problem (it happened during the middle of the night). I should also note that maint. also left our ac running at 60 all day long after they "fixed" it and the temp outside was high 90's - we didn't get home 'til later that evening to discover the work order showed they'd been there in the morning. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR SPECIFIC AC UNIT BEFORE MOVING IN, it's an older unit, you WILL have problems and extreme bills during summer! |
