This is not the ideal place for tenants who are looking for quality. These apartments need lots of work and repairs. I think their charge of $75 late fee is outrages, when they cannot get to a repair needed in an apartment done, much less in a timely manner. You don't see any credits when they are late. "Go figure"....
I the staff is mediocre, nothing to go and make a fuss about. They offer volleyball courts. I've seen these used as dog runners and restrooms rather than for volleyball. If I continue on my list its never ending....NOT RECOMMENDED>>>

The response must have been written by a member of the office staff - only they would say something like that! I challenge the replier to name other complexes where they have lived. Kenton is a dump and the rent being charged is too high for what little you get. You expect maintenance and you don't get it. When I lived there the back gate was ALWAYS broken allowing people to just drive on and off the property at will. The lights were out frequently near the mailboxes. Gutters on the carports were hanging down and created a hazard to your head. Tenants would leave barbecue grills and bicycles out on the sidewalk which was treacherous when the building lights were out. These same neighbors would leave trash by their front door in spite of this being against the rules. Door slamming in the building was another favorite as was the parking situation. The car next to mine used to park so close that it blocked my passenger door. The office staff didn't care. Shall I go on?

If you don't like the late fee, THEN DON'T BE LATE! I had nothing but good dealings with the office folks and one time I even politely asked them if they would waive the late fee once for me. They gladly allowed me the leniency due to my record of on-time payments.
I challenge you to find apartments that are the same age and that are maintained better. Bear in mind that the only way to prove this is to have actually stayed in said apartments long enough to form a solid opinion.

It???s unfortunate that you have experienced difficulties with Kenton. However from what I have read, the majority of these complaints are not with the apartment complex but with some of the tenants surrounding you. In every apartment complex, you will have those occasional unruly neighbors. My questions to all who have responded in agreement to the original response are: 1) When you were unable to open your car door because the neighbor was so close, did you talk to that neighbor? 2) Did you notify management about the rodent droppings? 3) Have you confronted that neighbor that keeps you up at night about the slamming of doors? 4) The complaints about the tenants leaving barbeque grills and bikes out near the curve: have you told management about those tenants and the location of the bikes, grills, and trash? You see my problem with the negative reviews of any apartment is that you never hear about the tenants giving management enough time to fix the problem. I have been a tenant of Kenton since 2006 and I enjoy my place. I haven't had a problem when maintenance at all. If there is something wrong with my apartment, I call and place a work order. Maybe the difference between me and the rest of the tenants is the fact that I understand that I'm not the only person that may have to placed a work order. Be patient and allow management and maintenance to do their job before ragging on them. Oh, and as far as you sir with late fee price problem: If you pay your rent on time, you wouldn't have a problem with maintenance. They probably wait to receive payment before they fix your apartment. Like the earlier contributor said: PAY YOUR RENT ON TIME!!!!!

To Unique: The parking spots are too small, especially within the covered area, so that is a problem with the apartments - not the neighbor parking too close - he parks in the middle and I park in the middle. Yes, management has been notified about all the problems and no, they aren't doing anything about it. I've place work orders, that have gone on ignored (and have to make several calls) - I realize that I'm not the only person in the complex with problems - obviously, that's apparent if you read other reviews of the place - it's falling apart, but I think you would agree that they lack sufficient maintenance help for the size of the complex. I know I can't do anything about the neighbors and that is part of apartment living regardless of where you go - ya never know who you're gonna end up next to and for the most part, I do like my neighbors (except the temporary ones that smoked pot below us), but when you get that one bad seed, it can be very frustrating - especially if you have to worry that if you say anything your car or apartment might get vandilized. I've never paid my rent late, so I don't know about that, but there is definitely a lack of efficient management & maintenance at this complex - my stove hasn't worked since we moved in 3 years ago and yes, I have reported it several times - the "part is on order" - just one of many examples I have.
