I lived at La Jola for three years and have been in three different units. I had water leaking in my apartment, several times. I notifiied the management and they sent someone out but they were not able to fix the problem. I finally had an incident where my kitchen trash can overflowed from the water coming out of the ceiling. The mgmt did not want to let me out of my lease so they gave me $200 to move, the movers cost over $500.

I moved to a new unit and everything seemed fine for 9 months, then once the heavy showers started again.. you got it water coming out of the ceiling. This time I got sick, since I am allergic to Mold. Once again they would not let me out of my lease, but the only thing available was a two bedroom without washer and dryer connections. The apartment next to mine was not rented for over a year, I am assuming due to water damage problems. Go look at the front of the building they have a 10 inch PVC pipe coming out to handle the water now. That sure did not help me, besides the water was in the walls of the apartment complex for years. Anytime it rains I get sick due to mold. It would be interesting to see if bexar county can go in the apartments and measure the mold.

I have seen 4 or 5 different Apt managers in this time. So the moral of the story is if you like mold go ahead and rent here.

The management have tried to compensate for the inability to get out of the lease but that does not make up for bad overall service.
