not good From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 4/16/2006 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006   I have lived in La Jolla for almost a year, and it is the worst choice I have ever made. My car got stolen in the parking lot, and before that it had been broken into. They do not have nearly enough parking. The management would tell you ANYTHING to get you to leave them alone... they even said that all of the garages were full... the day before they had told me that 3/4 of them were empty. The walls are VERY thin... I can hear the neighbor's alarm clock from all rooms in my apartment. Also, the a/c units must have some problems too... my neighbor smoked, and every day at 5 pm, when he got off of work, my entire apartment would smell like smoke. Maintenence came to my apartment and sprayed air freshener on my filter to "fix" the problem. When I first moved in, I brought a list that was 6 pages long of things that needed to be fixed in my apartment. Only two things were completed. Another one was supposed to be fixed, but they did not fix it until I threatened to leave at the end of my 6-month lease. Needless to say, they fixed it the day before my lease ended, and even then I had to raise hell because they claimed that they did not set up an appointment to fix my shower... and they told me I had to wait another month. On top of it, when they finally resurfaced my shower, I had a layer of paint on EVERYTHING in my bathroom... they did not even cover the mirror or counters. Now the surfaces in the bathroom are impossible to clean... there is primer everywhere. Possibly the worst thing they did was spraypaint over the mold that was growing under my sink. The pipes had been leaking for at least 3 months before I moved in, and there was mold all over the wall. Maintenence claimed that it was just discoloration and just spraypainted over it. Overall, this is a TERRIBLE place to live.
