My experience at La Jolla has been quite unpleasant.
They violated, for more than three months, Texas law (Texas Property Code 92.153 (a) (5))concerning requirements of security devices. Maintenance is lacking, I've requested they fix discrepancies identified at time of move-in last September and this past week (seven months later) it was the first time they sent someone to take a look at it (and only after I hired an attorney to send them a demand letter). Additionally, a portion of the ceiling cave in due to water damage nearly a month ago, and I had to contact the City of San Antonio Code Enforcement Division in order for La Jolla to repair the damage to the bathroom ceilings.
Even though La Jolla Apartments listed access gates, gym, and a pool as part of the ammenities when I moved in, the gym was closed for several weeks and the access gates have not worked since I moved-in in September 2008.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words... look at the bathroom's ceiling... I had to endure living in an apartment with an unsafe condition for more than 6 weeks until the City Code Enforcement office became involved.
Gulfstream Apt Portfolio, L.L.C. (the owners) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 2009.
The bankruptcy cases are 2:09-bk-14774-SB & 2:09-bk-15342-ERJ
United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California, Los Angeles Division
