Overall, enjoyed my stay of about two years. Great location, close enough to downtown, next to highways [but not too close!] Really nice pools and work out gym. Downside....There are a lot of ARMY people living here. They come in and come out, so there is a bit of "transient-ness" to the place that is unfortunate. Plus, the military get lots of discounts [funded by us regular Joes paying higher prices I'm afraid].
DOGS...One big problem is that the lease states no dogs over something like 80 pounds. But let me tell you, there are lots of dogs here weighing well over 80, probably 100 pounds or pretty darn close to it. If you have a little dog, this is not the place for you. Take a big dog and an Army grunt who thinks they don't have to obey civilian laws, and you get a very unfortunate living situation.
Overall, the staff is nice. They are like everyone else in the world. If you're nice and pleasant to them, they'll be nice and pleasant to you. A lot of the military people act like their butts need to be kissed [Irag and all], but the truth is this is the real world and your behavior dictates your treatment. I could care less that you have three stripes/one star on your arm or whatever. You need to behave professionally like everyone else in the world.

Wanted to add about utilties. My bill rarely was over $100 and I always ran my AC and heat to my heart's content. Plus I faced the evening sun, so bills should have been higher. Appliances were a bit old, but I never had major problems with anything. Again, I'm not an ARMY jerk who expects everybody to jump when I walk by. Small problems were usually addressed quickly. Apartment living is apartment living. This place is pretty good as far as that goes.

You are a joke, talking about members of the military that way. You are probably some 4f reject, liberal, flag-burning, hippie, scared little man. You would probably wet your pants being faced in a combat situation. Why don't you move to Iraq and see if you can complain on a website about your new dwelling there? did'nt think so. One more thing, learn ranks and insignias or shut your mouth, you probably don't even have the nerve to say these things to their faces!

I think the person who wrote this review has their head so far up their ass that they can't see what's right in front of them! My spouse is military AND we have more than one dog living at Lakeside with us, big and small. I have not had any rude or negetive encounters with anyone here, especially military people. If it wasn't for our soldiers you wouldn't have the freedom to voice your snotty opinions to the rest of the world. I think you should take a second look around and ask yourself if you ARE getting treated poorly by certain people, what you are doing to attract that kind of response. As far as the apartments go, we are very happy here and enjoy the beauty of this complex daily.
