I previously wrote a good review of The Lodge, but after being treated horribly during move-out and finding a FANTASTIC new place 5 mins away (Salado Springs at Blanco and Wurzbach), I have a different opinion.
The Lodge is safe and in a good neighborhood, but that's the only good thing I have to say. The management is rude, incompetent, and deceitful. When I wanted to renew, I went to the office (as per my contract) 1 month prior to the end of my lease to inquire about renewal rates and was told that no one was available to speak to me that day. I came back every day for a week and was given the same line. Finally, I asked if I would be able to speak to someone before it became less than 1 month before the end of the contract, and I was told that since I was here in time, I wouldn't have to renew or give notice until someone spoke to me and I wouldn't be penalized for doing so within a month of the lease's expiration. 2 weeks later, I still couldn't speak to ANYone and gave up, moved to my new place, and gave notice. I was fined nearly $400 for giving notice within 1 month of the lease's expiration and was told that I should've been there to speak to someone sooner!!! When I tried to contact management's corporate office I hit a brick wall - NO ONE will provide contact info or speak with you at Management Support. I had to cough up the $400 AND I didn't get all of my deposit back because there were crumbs in my refrigerator. Seriously - crumbs cost $50 to remove! I was treated so rudely and unfairly (especially since I was an ideal tenant - paid rent on time, never complained, and was always polite to the management) that I warn everyone not to rent at The Lodge or any of Management Support's other properties.

Any idea if management has any plans to improve the trash situation?

I don't know about that, but I do know that the Lodge just got a new manager on Friday. Maybe she will make some needed changes.
