I lived at the lodge for two years, the first year was great...second year not so much because of the new management. I moved out a few months ago, i asked the person working there if i should schedule a appointment to do a inspection when i move out and he said just to call when i was ready for one. He forgot to tell me that it only applies during the weekdays. So, due to the fact that i was all packed up in my moving truck and had a hour and a half drive ahead of me, i decided not to get a inspection. Later i get a bill for a 100$ for carpet cleaning. I called the office to ask about it, they said that they would have to get back to me and ask the carpet cleaning company why they charged me(which still makes no sense). They said they were going to call me back but never did. I call them back and then they go on to tell me that it was for pet cleaning....however i never had a pet! When i informed the not so bright employee of this, she said she would get back to me. Never did, so i called her and then she informed me that after consulting her manager they both agreed that there was a "strong odor" and they just assumed it was from a pet.

I cleaned that apartment for a total of 12 hours, if it smelled like anything its 409 cleaner, i NEVER walked on the carpet with my shoes on, i didn't have a pet, i was out of town more than half the time i lived there, i never had one spill on that carpet, i would constantly leave the door open to air the place out. I'm not usually one to be so upset about a 100$ move out fee, but when they are obviously just trying to take advantage of the fact that i didn't do a inspection and the fact that i have tried to get in touch with the manager on numerous occasions with no luck makes me really resent this apartment complex.

Moral of the story: go with them during the inspection, but still be ready to be charged because they will find a way to charge you for something that is their responsibility.

Also, i could hear my upstairs neighbors peeing at night...gross.
