All and all, my experience with this property has been very good. With the exception of a few (who are no longer here) staff, I have found the management to be absolutely wonderful and the maintenence staff to be courteous and prompt. All of my calls and concerns were responded to within 24 hours. The grounds are always clean, and the pool is great.
The floorplans are spacious and layout is nice. I love the oversized tubs and the large closets. The kitchen needs some work - there are only two small drawers and not enough pantry space. The community functions are a lot of fun and they have something going on every month. It's a great way to meet your neighbors and they are always giving away good prizes.
One drawback is the transportation to local schools. This is not the fault of the management, but the NEISD school district transportation department. We are just under the milage to require bus p/u for Churchill HS, and there are NO sidewalks on West Ave. or Lockhill Selma. I have written them and they said they "surveyed" the area and will not be offering bus service. What a crock. So, to those of you who are single parents or both working, consider this in your move.
Another issue is their contract with SBC/ATT for dish services. This absolutely stinks. One time I had to wait THREE days for my service to be repaired. When the guy got here, he spent one minute in my apt and five seconds outside flipping a switch. I do believe the management needs to consider other alternatives for service in order to keep their residents happy.
Also beware that this complex has corporate housing. In the summer there are a lot of "inconsiderate boobs" staying here who let their kids run a-muck. In addressing this with the staff, they were very attentive in letting these parents know that there were complaints. I once had to pull my daughter out of the pool and take her home because there were about 15 kids under the age of 12 running from one end to the other. Come to find out the parents were in the clubhouse having a nice party!
