I grew up in Westwood from 72 until 82 when I graduated Jay and went into the Marines.I remember those apartments,I believe at the time they had some French name(alot of older apts built in the 50's and 60's did that).Those apartments were exclusively for 'adults only' and were very nice.Most of the kids were afraid to go on the property because the people living their 1970's swinging disco lifestyle would call the cops on you in a heartbeat if they saw you just walking around the area.Those apts were one of only about 3 or 4 apts in the entire Westwood area,a similar complex was on Westward near Lackland,there where a few duplexes out near loop 410.The apartment boom didn't start until the mid 80's.There were always some rough areas around Westwood even back in the 70's(Pinn rd area,some parts of Valley Hi;God help you if football practice at Anson Jones ran late,you would have to run a gaulet of HS age kids until you got to Military dr and Timbercreek.I say HS age because most were probably drop outs.) but for the most part it was a nice place for Air Force families to live after globe trotting around Japan,West Germany and Palukaville USA for 30 yrs.Sorry you guys have to live like that.
