Don't depend on the locks on the garages

We leased two garages in addition to the apartment and within a month the garage we were using for stoage was broken into. All they have to do is take a screwdriver and pull off the external keyswitch and touch the two contacts together to open up your "secure" garage.
We removed the wires leading to the keyswitch from the door opener so it wouldn't happen again. The next time they used a screwdriver and puched through the emergency lock in the upper middle of the garage door and used a coat hanger to poke in and grab the emergency pull cable which unlatches the door from the door opener mechanism.
We finally took care of it by tying the emergency cable so it couldn't be pulled on through the hole.
Also if you live in a top floor apartment the attic area above you is shared so anybody on the top floor can crawl up through the attic door in their apartment and either watch you from the crawlspace or even open up your attic door and gain entrance into your apartment.
Unless you pay for reserved parking (which is a rip-off) there is not enough parking spaces for all of the tenants.
We finally got fed up when they were going to raise our rent and we did not renew and bought a house.
Now we don't have the ---- management to hassle with too and we are saving money.
