The apartment was dirty when I moved in. The carpet seriously needed to be replaced.

I had a drug dealer living next door, and his customers knocked on my door by mistake at all hours of the night, and urinated against my patio fence.

There were the same rusting cars parked in the same spots the entire time I lived there.

The swimming pools were so dirty I feared for the health of anyone who used them.

There were five people living in the one bedroom next to me (four adults and one baby) and nothing was done about it.

My refrigerator leaked onto my kitchen floor the entire time I lived there.

The tiles fell off of the bathroom walls into the bathtub while my baby was in the bathtub. That was repaired promptly, and they gave me the keys to a vacant apartment to shower at until repairs could be made.

My car was broken into, and another time two men climbed my patio fence while I was sitting out there.

When I moved out, they charged me for replacing the carpet, which was dirty when I moved in. I asked to see the form listing the condition of the apartment when I moved in, which I had filled out in great detail, and they showed me a form that had "New Condition" written across the page, with my signature at the bottom. Number one thing I learned in the military - if you turn something in that you signed, get a copy. If they try to creat a forgery, you have a copy that refutes it.
