Goods and bads...but more bads From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/26/2006 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2006 1 response   All in all, I probably wouldnāt recommend it. It really isnāt all that bad, but you get what you pay for...though for this price, there are better options. I wonāt renew my lease, so if thatās any indicationātake it for face value. I've lived here for about 3 years now and I will say that the office chicks are really quite friendly, while seemingly not too far on the education slide...they do try, and Iāll give them that. They help with whatever the office is supposed to help with. Maintenance here blows, but the apartments are older than dirt, so itās basically ājerry-riggingā everything to work until it breaks again. Plus b/c of the age, the electricity is super high, really crappy insulation. Water was shut off quite a few times, but they always tell you in advance and itās always during āoff-peakā times...i.e. when the non-ghetto of us are at work. And never for 3 days straight, as some previous commenter wrote. And it really has been a long time since theyāve done that. I did go to www.mysasantonio.comās crime-blotter and saw the large amounts of calls to the police in regards to this complex, but mostly domestic disturbances, and thatās just people fighting w/there family, cause theyāre ghetto. The roaches here are a big problem...and by big I mean they probably weigh around 5 lbs each. But, at least on the plus side, you really donāt have to worry about any other bugs because the big-ass roaches each the other bugs. But, and Iām dead-serious here, I was on my front porch smoking a cigarette and was literally attacked by like 20 roaches...sucked. Was just hanging out and one flew up and I was about to squash that fool and like 19 of his boys followed...and let me tell you man...I HATE ROACHES! Cats do roam everywhere, itās true...so I recommended to the office that they implement a strict āleash less dog programā, that way theyād eat the multitudes of cats...The management just laughed and gave me a cookie...I WAS serious, but at least the cookie was good...white chocolate macadamia nut. The bathrooms are honestly...jacked up...Impossible to keep clean. I even had a girl tell me she wasnāt attracted to me anymore because the way I kept my bathroomā.but seriously man, if you do clean properly...everything breaks. When I moved in there was obviously temporary resurfacing to the bathtub, and tiles fell off of my roommates bathtub walls while he and his girlfriend were showering (at least, to my knowledge, thatās what they were doing), and cut her foot. Thereās also a pretty good trend of mold problems. This place has, in fact, gotten worse with time, Iāll admit...and by āafter timeā, I mean after Hurricane Katrina hit...then all of New Orleans showed up. Man youāre talking babyās walking around in diapers (alone), police constantly on property, and my Glock constantly loaded. But, I will say...the residents generally respect each others space. Basically itās like what you seen in prison moviesāif you donāt F*** w/ them they wonāt F*** w/ you.
