Oakhampton Place is a nice and quiet place to live in a central location very close to Loop 410. The grounds are attractive and generally well-kept. For the price, Oakhampton offers more floor-space than many other San Antonio apartment complexes in the high-end range.
However, as the apartments age the maintainence efforts are falling short. My apartment had serious problems with a roof leak that took more than 6 months to resolve. From talking to other residents I know that several other apartments had the same problem, and some leaks continued for more than a year. My second-story front porch was so weakened with age that it wasn't safe to let people go out on the porch. The wooden staircase leading to my apartment was weak and had several loose steps. The foundation in my building was settling to the point that the inside walls in my apartment were cracked and the brick of the chimney developed pretty serious cracks.
I found the front office staff extremely business-like to the point of being curt.
