Moving to San Antonio, I chose Oaks of Northgate because of the fairly economic rates and the good location. After 7 months, the complex still was a good deal in a place that was convenient (near groceries, the highway, the Medical Center). Aside from that, the complex has the following good and not so good qualities:
- Very good maintenance staff
- Fairly quiet neighbors overall (except for noisy dogs in a few areas)
- An office staff that requires persistent reminders to get some things done
The two negatives above (dogs and office staff) occured due to residents having dogs in their apartments which were of the yipping kind. Due to the kind of walls, these dogs' barks pierce through easily, making it hard to have a quiet environment. However, this may be only isolated to the far east side of the complex (since that's where I lived). I didn't feel that other areas had as many problems since most residents seem of the type not to have animals like that. The other negative being the slow office staff isn't much of a problem really. It seems that most offices of apartments in the San Antonio area have the same inability to get things done in a timely manner, so this isn't too out of the norm.
Overall, a very good apartment complex for the rate.
