I don't have any of those problems

I just stumbled upon this website, and I have to agree with someone below: People come here to vent, not to praise. A few people even said "A few years ago it was great"... Well why didn't you say it was great a few years ago' Thus proving my point - people come here to vent.

Anyway, I'm reading all of these things: Cracks in the walls, things not working, bugs coming in, staff is lazy and stupid, etc. And I'm thinking, "I haven't had any of these problems."

1. I do have one crack in my wall, but it had been fixed well before I got there, and is hardly visible. It's above my fireplace.

2. The only thing that didn't work was my dishwasher, but I called a work order in as soon as I discovered that and they came and REPLACED it. It works great - no problems.

3. I have seen ONE roach in my apartment since I moved in in February 2006. What did I do' I killed it with a rolled up magazine, threw it outside, and that was the end of it. Is it that hard'

4. Staff is awesome. The ladies in the office are fun, bubbly, and full of energy. The maintenance staff do their job properly. They don't say anything to you, they simply come in, do their job, fill you in on what's going on, and leave.

One thing you really notice about the staff is that they are all very comfortable with eachother. The have a lot of chemistry and great communication. That sounds dumb, but when it comes to solving MY problems, they work very well together.

I live in the loft apartment, it's an enormous 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. I lease it for $699 and I received all of March for free (I moved in in February). You can't beat that with a stick.

My only problem that I HAD just until recently was the loft gets very, very hot. I'm familiar with a lot of things, as I used to be a "jack of all trades", of sorts. So when I noticed that there was just one small vent in the loft, I knew that that's why it was getting so hot. The thermostat is downstairs, so when you put it in 75 degrees, it will get 75 degrees downstairs, but it will be 85 degrees upstairs. Something I never thought of, but one of the ladies in the office just discovered in her own apartment, is very, very helpful. There is a switch on the base of your living room ceiling fan. If you flip it (use a broom), it will reverse the blades. So, instead of blowing hot air from upstairs downstairs, it pulls cold air from downstairs to upstairs. Voila! It fixed it immediately and now there is no problem whatsoever. It's amazing that I never thought of that, but Molly really helped me out. She was so excited, too, that she found that out. She wanted to tell everyone.

All in all, I've had a great 7 months here. Albeit, you do have some crazy neighbors - old ladies who do like to dumpster dive (gross), but they are all very nice. The staff is wonderful and helpful. The apartments are old, yes, but they are homey. If you want a brand new apartment, go pay for it.

You proved nothing. Many tenants have some serious code problems with their apartments. The whole purpose of this site is to alert potential new tenants to what they could expect. I would much rather see the seriousness of these issues posted here. At least forewarned is forearmed. And yes, there are still some decent apartments here, so you are one of the lucky ones. But others continue to have major problems and no one is saying they want a new apartment but they are entitled to one that is in living condition. Interesting that the rating overall is still extremely poor.

sure you don't have any cracks right now, you've only been living here for seven months. my cracks/wall seperation didn't start until 14 months in.....right after i had signed another year lease. i had code compliance here last week and he said he couldn't believe they were still letting me live here in such poor conditions. just wait a couple more months...you'll get cracks.

Barby and Molly are good but they are only leasing agents. The manager and the assistant manager are the problem. They are nothing but rude and don't care about you as long as the rent checks keep rolling in. Everytime I have had a problem in my apartment, if it was anything other than an active water leak, I am still waiting for it to be fixed. I have been here about a year and there are items I told them needed to be fixed the day I moved in that still have not been fixed.
