WORST PLACE TO LIVE!!!

I have lived here for 5 years. When I moved in, this place was a decent place to live. The manager here back then was great at weeding out the trouble. I never had to wait more then 2 days for the staff to make a repair. I loved how thick the walls were. I could never hear my neighbors. In the last 3 years I have seen this place go to HELL!!! The staff does not care. We used to have a nice manager by the name of Cindy. She gave us a reason not to leave. She made a deal that if you kept signing a 13 month lease.. your rent would always stay the same and would never go up. I started hating the apartment but that was the only thing keeping me from leaving. We now have a new manager that raised our rent $20.00 a month. So not only am I living in the ghetto but now I'm being over charged to live here. We have people burning down the buildings, old ladies ***dumpster diving***, drownings, naked people swimming in the middle of the nights with little children watching, drug deals, shootings, poor maintenence etc. We live in the GHETTO!!! I don't feel safe here at all. I have had my car broken into. This complex has several break-in's. This complex is full of little children wondering the streets.. with parents not in sight. I have never heard little children 3 to 6 years old using such foul language. If you love your children you will not live here. The problem is that the Manager now will not turn anyone away. I have seen so much TRASH move in, in the last couple years. I find crack pipes.. baggies... on the ground. The Police are here every day!!! I am scared to leave at night. We have 3 locks on the front door, and 3 on the back. I also put alarms and extra locks on every window. I am happy to say now that we are moving out. The new manager could'nt care less about anyone living here. That was obvious when she raised EVERYONES rent. Not to mention the fact that she SHUTS OUR WATER OFF EVERY WEEK!!! Once a week our water gets shut of ALL DAY LONG!!! We cant take showers, flush the toilet, wash the dishes, or clothes. She doesnt just shut the water off for an hour... but 8 HOURS at a time!!! This happenes at least once a week. If the water is not getting shut off, most of the time we only get cold water. I'm sorry but now I can not think of 1 nice thing to say about this complex. I may as well be living on the west side. I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL MOVE OUT DAY!!! (If we are still in one piece)

I agree! I lived there for over 10 years! Ofcourse in 10 years the carpet will get worn out especially at the door ways. also our blinds were coming undone. they refused to replace our blinds (for free) and they refused to get us new carpet. i mean come on we lived there for 10 years! Not only that but when we moved in the carpet was already used. The carpet had red stains that never came out. Anyway, they tried to charge me for the damaged carpet, and blinds when I moved out!!! Can you believe that? You would think that they would expect that after living there so long. Unfortunatly I paid for it eventhough I shouldnt have. I am kicking myself now because I found out that there is some kind of law stating that a landlord must replace carpet after 5 years. I wasnt too upset about them not replacing it, I just cant believe that they charged me!!! Dont be a fool!!!

Don't give her your real name! That is obviously not a resident. If the office gets your name it will be worse. I made a complaint about the maintenence before, and they happened to lose all of my work orders. They have not come back to my apartment to fix anything. I also had a friend that lived here. She was known as a "complainer". She got fed up with the cracks in the walls, and the holes in the ceiling, and her floor coming apart. Once her lease was up she moved out. The apartment tried to charge her for the damage! The maintenence would not go to her apartment to fill the work orders, and then she gets charged for it. Take it from me your better off not to complain.

I have something to add here, and i don't care if they know my name. I'm Troy, my wife and i were set to move in this weekend..good thing we didn't.
According to SAPD the apts average 18-20 calls a MONTH!182 Reported calls so far this year!! Your safety and well being are not worth $525 a month. After learning these crime facts,we called the office and told them we will NOT be taking the place, because they bold faced lied about the crime in the apts. No surprise that they will NOT be giving us our deposit back, even though we have yet to sign a lease. Do your homework on a place people, read the reviews, check the place out with SAPD,and cruise the place at night, see what kind of people are around.
I don't mind losing my deposit money if you all learn a lesson from me. Younger people..know this: credit does matter, the better yours is, the better places you can live, i emplore you..don't live here.

If it is so bad, then why did you renew when your lease was up? They let you know in advance....I mean come on 5 yrs but it's so horrible, that doesn't really make any sense. And this is for Troy....next time you sign a legal paper, make sure you read it. Also, no staff in any apt. community in SA would tell you there is a 0 crime rate....that is ridiculous!! It's a big city, ofcourse there's crime, there's crime at every apt. complex you go to! DUH!!! They don't answer that kind of question because they don't have that type of information and the majority of companies I know, don't allow their staff to answer that question. They will tell you to call the police department to find out anything like that. They can't give you information about things that happen after the office is closed. I mean, think about it, when does most crime occur....over night and on the weekends. What a moron! You could give the address of the school across the street and see how many calls SAPD gets for that address. You're not the brightest crayon in the box, are you?.....
