When my husband and I moved to San Antonio in 2002 I loved this apartment. It had personality and didn't look like the typical apartment. The first couple of years weren't bad. We didn't really have many problems and what few we did have were minor and easy to fix.

Then a things went down hill. There was a fire that took out several apartments and seemed to take forever to rebuild turning the parking lot into a construction zone with nails and debris just laying around (I had to have my tires patched 3 times due to this). The mail boxes were broken into and it took over a month to get them fixed, so we had to go down to the post office to pick up our mail. We have had pipes burst and leak down onto my apartment. Since it was it was after hours their night maintenance guy came out, tore up my shower, and rigged a temporary fix until the next day. When they came out and fixed the pipe they also punched 4 hours in our wall and ceiling and expanded the hole in my shower. It took a week for them to come out and fix the shower, another month for them to patch the hole in the bathroom and I'm still waiting for them to patch the last of the holes in my dining room from where the water ran down the wall.

The foundation here has shifted so that the stairs in front of the building are now a couple inches away from the building, my front door doesn't seal correctly, and there is a crack in my wall from the pressure. The water is constantly being turned off the fix one problem or another. It seems that this needs to be done at least once a month. And to top everything off, I can't run my AC and dryer at the same time or else the circuit breaker flips.

While the apartments are now under new management, I don't know if that is helping. It seems that they just have a nicer way to tell you that they aren't going to do anything. One example of this is the holes. I put in another service request to have the above mentioned holes patched 10 days ago. When I called 5 days ago, I was told that it will be done by the end of the week, which is today. Since it still hasn't been done, I just called and was told that it would be another week. So I have had these holes for several months and at this rate it's going to be another couple of months until it is done.

You may wonder why we have stayed here for so long, and the truth is we would of moved 2 years ago, except my husband, who is in the military, received orders to move 2 months after our lease would of been up so we went ahead and renewed instead of moving for 2 months, just to move again. After we signed the new lease, his orders got canceled and then last year our daughter was in the hospital and we were expecting him to get orders again so we decided to just stay put and pray the military came through with orders for us. Either way we are moving this fall, even if he has orders and we will only have a month in the new place before packing up again.
