Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004

I have lived at these apartments for a year and a half. We have had numerous problems with this complex and nobody seems to care. Aside from the ridiculous amount of management changes, I will list off the problems I have in hopes that you will take this advice and turn around.
1. If you ever have the need (and you will) to call the management office, do not call from a cell phone. They place you on hold for at least 5 minutes at a time. I have wasted so many minutes just being on hold. Nobody ever seems to write things down there because messages misteriously disappear. Nobody ever seems to know what the hell they are doing there.
2. There is a "courtesy patrol" that NEVER calls back. We have had numerous noise complaints about people being at the pool bar-b-quing at 3:00 in the morning. Nothing but a bunch of drunk kids peeing all over the grass. People park in your private spot(the only place you have unless you feel like hiking 20 miles up the hill) and the towing service is nowhere to be found.
3. The peice of crap gate is ALWAYS broken. They warned us that they were going to fix them and we must either BUY a remote (WHAT'!'!') or register a gate code. I have never even needed this gate code because it's wide open!!
4. The ghetto section 8 housing next door invites themselves to enjoy our amenities. Especially when the gate is open and says "come on over!!" Kids ride their bikes down the hills waiting to get hit by a car and in the summer they enjoy our pool. Must be nice.
5. The tennis courts look like hell and they don't even bother with refinishing it. They just like to put it in their advertisements like they are in good condition. Not only that but the "putting green" looks like crap and can't even be used.
6. Going back to the parking situation, don't invite friends over. They will have to park 20 miles down the hill and make sure to tell them their car is vulnerable to those ghettos next door. Someone took it upon themselves to break off our door handle to our 30, 000 car. Nice. I get to spend money on a rental.
7. The water bills are ridiculous. The new management company apparently isn't covering as much of a percentage as the last one was so our water bill is like 20.00 a month. For two people in a one bedroom apartment!!
After you've gotten your bill including a 4 dollar charge for trash pickup ($4 a month people. That's a lot of money for trash pickup from all of the tenants.) they will leave a note on your door stating that you owe another $4 and they won't accept any more rent from you until you pay $4 measly freakin dollars. AFTER YOU'VE ALREADY PAID IT!!
8. How about the crickets that come into your apartment through every crack and hole in your place' Through the lights for some reason. There are millions of them swarming around the apartments into your clothes and belongings and in your bed. Then there's the wasps. Tons of nests everywhere. I invite my little brothers over and as soon as one steps outside he gets stung on the hand.
9. The foundation is cracking on every wall and for some reason our balcony door doesn't shut tight so in the winter the cold air gets inside. AND, during the summer our electricity bill is outrageous because the a/c cold air is going outside. Perfect.
10. When we moved in the bathtub tiling looked fine. After a week or so some serious mold started to form and I realized that when they "cleaned the apartment" they must have calked right over mold that wasn't cleaned from the last tenant. So I am continously pouring bleach on it and cleaning so it doesn't look like a hell hole. Then there was hair in my sink that would not come out. The toilet water smells like butthole when you flush it. The carpet looks like crap and if we want new carpet we have to move out our belongings and move it back in. The closet is about the size of my big toe. There is mold in my kitchen cabinets. Half of the electrical outlets didn't want to work so they said it must be a major problem and they would have to tear out part of the wall. Who knows how long that would take and we needed to hook up our computer for school so they gave us a cheesy 2 inch extension cord. Where it extends, I don't know.
All of this happened after we originally picked out our apartment and then we couldn't move in it for some reason. Then we picked another one and it had foundation problems so we had to pick ANOTHER ONE. So we ended up in this GREAT apartment. I wouldn't have typed all this if I thought this complex was acceptable. Stay away.

He or she is right in multiple areas. I have lived at this apartments for about 10 months now and I can relate to many of those instances. The gate is always broken, my AC has broken at least 6 times and if you do not have kids living with you, they won't fix it right away. The parking is a problem, even though we are two renting this apartment, they just gave us ONE assigned spot, and the open parking is so far, so if my roommate wins the assigned parking space I have to park so far and walk. It is true that if you want to invite friends over, parking is what makes my guests hesitant of coming over. Being on the third floor sucks! going up and down the stairs on a daily basis sucks. If payment is due on a holiday or weekend you are screwed and charged with fees, supposedly we had security patrolling during nights, but it didn't last long. After 4pm there is no staff working. Trash dumpsters are so far you have to put all your trash in your car, which makes your car stink, and then you have to drive to the dumpster! now if you want to get rid of your trash and you are parked so far, you will need to carry your garbage for a long time... it is true, there is getto people always trying to break into cars and apartments... As soon as my lease is over I'm moving out for sure
