I finally have time to reflect on my time at Promontory. My wife and I moved to Promontory on November 1, 2006. We were in a 1 Bed/ 1 Bath tiny apartment and were paying $800.00 a month, which was outrageous, but we didn't have time to look around. The apt. was terrible. The dishwasher broke the second week we lived there and it took two weeks to fix it. The one positive thing I can say about this hell-hole of a place is they sure know how to rope you in when you first get there. Our sells associate's name was, since we can t use personal names, the color of Dorothy s shoes in the Wizard of Oz (she did not live in Promontory Pointe...interesting).

Luckily, we were located in the back of the complex, so we had a lot more spaces available to park, so parking was never a real issue for us...until all the cars around me started having their tires stolen. People's cars were being vandalized nightly (no joke). For the first 7 months everything was just okay...if you don't count the late night noise and drug dealer (honest to God) that lived next door. In March of 2007, we decided to upgrade to a 2 Bedroom/ 2 bath apartment....for 1007.00 a month. When I went to our Sell s Associate she stated that I must live in the one bedroom for seven months before I could upgrade....which makes zero sense, since the apt. complex would be making more money. So we waited until May and moved. Just to give you some insight on the intelligence of the mgt. and crew, we asked them to paint an accent wall in our new apt. When it was almost time to move in, I asked our sells associate if our wall had been painted, she asked the maintenance person and they said sure we painted apt. #14305. I said that was great, but we are moving into #14205. The idiots painted the wrong apt.!! When I went to sign the lease for the upgraded apt., our sells Associate stated that I must pay a new deposit, pet deposit, and administrative fees. This is when I knew what kind of people were running the asylum. I informed our sells associate that it made absolutely no sense for me to pay all these fees again, if I was just moving apts. She got pissed at me and started to explain how it all works (which didn't make any sense). I finally pissed her off enough to not have to pay anything "extra" for moving apts. in the same complex, hence giving the apt. complex more money. When I started reading over the new contract, she had spelled our names wrong, had the wrong apt. number down, had the wrong rent price, etc. I brought this all to her attention and she said it was okay, she knew how much we were supposed to pay. Feeling stressed about getting screwed over, I re-wrote our contract and had her sign the new one (and they wanted ME to pay the Admin. Fee). Once we moved in, everything was okay for a month until we got a notice on our door stating that we had not paid rent and were being evicted! We ran to the office (since we had always paid by the 1st) and asked what was going on. They found the copy of our check and said quote "oopps". For the first four months after we moved from the first apt., we received the water bill for our new apt. and our old apt. I called the water company and they stated that the apt. never bothered to call them and let them know, so they had to fix it. We finally moved out of the slum on October 22, 2007. We still have not received our security deposit or pet deposit from them. I recently called them and asked the status on my deposits and they explained it like this: "we mailed your deposit to your address." I asked, "Which address did you mail it to'" They stated "4114 Medical dr. apt. 15207." I asked, "how do you expect me to receive my deposit if you mailed it to the first apt. I lived in, not even the second, AND I HAD ALREADY BEEN MOVED OUT FOR TWO MONTHS!! The person did not know, but asked me if I wanted to talk to the new manager....my sells associate!

NEG:
For the 12 months we lived in Promontory Pointe, the electricity to the complex went out (averaging about 10 hours) SEVEN TIMES. The parking is a real problem. I would not let my wife walk outside after dark because it was not safe and we bought a gun so that we could sleep at night. The person below us was robbed, so was the person across the street and the person above us (not a joke). The staff is honestly the worst people I have ever dealt with...as is their managing company in Florida.

POS:
At some point, you do get to move out and forget about it.

Please listen to all these people and myself when I state, do not move to Promontory Pointe. I don't take a lot of interest into other people's reviews either, but all that has been written about this place is the honest to God truth.
