Awful Front Office - All they want is your money!

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009

My boyfriend and I have lived in these apartments for almost a year now. 1st there is an awful ant problem and always has been ever since day one. We have to put all dry food in ziploc bags. We have to put all bread items the fridge. We finally got an exterminator but it did not help the problem whatsoever.
The enter and exit gates do not work, so anyone and everyone (people who do not live here) can come in at any time of day or night. This has resulted into many car thefts and and buglaries. My boyfriend and I have witnessed one of the car thefts. Not only do the gates not work, the side gate that requires a code to open, does not have a code... it just opens when you push it. It is easy for ANYONE to get in here.
Our rent check was stolen from the front office one month. They made US go through hoops to get another rent check to them. Telling us that they were doing US a favor by giving us extra time to pay it again. The check was stolen from their front office, not our home. It should of been their responsibility to investigate and retreive the funds, but they did nothing. They filed apolice report but I never heard another word about it as far as their "investigation". They just kept harassing us for the money until finally we were able to get it for them. (yes one month we ended up paying twice so they would stop harassing us about the rent check that was stolen from THEIR front office)
The front office is hardly ever opened on time and almost NEVER opened on Sundays. We both work all day and dont have time to go there until the weekends. It is supposed to be open on Sundays (according to the HOURS sign on the front) but it hardly ever is. And then they hold church services sunday morning which I dont have a problem with, but it uses every parking space since there is no assigned parking.
The pool is never opened the time they say it will be opened. But dont bother going its always WAY over crowded and they dont open the bathrooms (they alwasy keep them locked) so the kids always pee in the pool. I have never been able to see the bottom of the pool.
We were outside at the bottom of our stairs last night, barbequing dinner and drinking alcohol but got into trouble by the on site constable saying we are not allowed to be drinking out of our apartment. It is considered"public" area even though I thought that the apartment complex was our living area and PRIVATE PROPERTY. We were told that we were not allowed to bring alcohol to the pool either even though people have it down there every day. And just today we look outside and see a front office bbq being held and when my boyfriend went down there to put in our 60 days notice (ofcourse the office was closed during their OPEN house) they had alcohol at the party...
Not to mention the carpet was awful when moved in, the bathroom bathtub in the master looks like its about to fall through the floor, molding awful. None of the stove pans fit so our pots always lean when we try to cook on the stove.
The trash bin is always overflowing its disgusting. Attracting rodents and skunks. The grass is hardly ever mowed. The fence that surrounds the apartments has a big whole it in and when we were outside last night we saw what looked like robbers dressed in black trying to hop the fence but then relized there was a huge hole (big enough for a truck to drive through) and just walked out.
OHYAH, the gym is hardly a gym.... the on site washer and dryer units are old and small, and dirty.
The maintence guy has come into our home (who knows how many times) with outh legal 24 hour notice to the tenant. That is against the law. I know this because one day i came home and opened the door. I was not expecting it to slam shut on my fingers and bust them open bleeding aeverywhere. Later I find a note on my counter saying they made the doors slam shut automatically do to somed kind of regulation. My boyfriends brother lived here too and he said his door does not (and never did) slam shut.. Where was the 24 hour notice that they would be opening our door''''
And our most recent issue:
Mine and my boyfriends lease was supposed to end June 30th 2009. I was expecting to get a letter on the door about our upcoming end of lease and have not recieved anything. We had been looking for a home to move into and found one. The same day we get a call telling us we are supposed to let them know in 60 days, not 30 and now we are stuck here another month. Yes this is in our lease, but at every apartment I have lived in I would always get a notice about the end of lease and then would go to the front and let them know I was not renewing. But they said that was just a courtesy and that they have been too busy this month dealing with yet another burglary... go figure. They have all these "courtesy's" but never do them. For instance, it is a courtesy (according to the manager that I spoke with, Cindy) to put a note on your door about a package. Well they never put notes on our doors so we never know when our package gets here.
All they care about is taking your money. They are not for the tenats and dont care in making this a home for anyone. If you need something you will have to wait. Our aAC went out lsat summer and they did not fix it for several days. We have children and it was 100 degree weather. That is when we were told we were responsible for changing the air filter...
It is a pretty complex, but the people who run it make it HORRIBLE. It is quite a shame and dissappointment. I would def. not recomend anyone live here. They dont care about their tenants, all they care about is taking your money. If any land lord of a home acted this way to their renter, no one would rent the home.
