You're life is worth more

I lived in that complex for over 6 years and was able to move out by the grace of God. While I lived there, there were 2 murders. They've also had a couple of meth labs busted and a lot of gang violence, vandalism, theft, and they were renting to sex offenders. After one of the murders took place, I moved to another building because the buildings in our area were getting death threats from gang members if they talked to the police. The management knew this was going on but did nothing to protect us. I caught 2 male contractors letting themselves into my apartment to steal from me. I told the staff, they said they were good friends and would never do it, but yet my jewelry and money was missing from my bedroom. I found out later that they regularly hired "independent contractors" and gave them keys to everyone's apartment and would let themselves in our units without notice while we were away at work. Even though we did not ask for maintenance. People were so mad that we even were trying to start up a neighborhood watch. Management didn't like that. You would think that if you knew that you had hired crooks to work on your complex, that you'd want to do something about it, but I guess that's not the case when you're hiring your friends and family members. That complex also has toxic mold. I had to call the city to report it because they would not fix the leaks in the roof nor do anything about the mold. When we left, it was due to the mold because it made me so sick. I know it seems tempting to live in an all-bills paid location, but believe me when I say that you and your family's safety and health are worth more than that. Rent elsewhere.

OMG! The exact same thing happened to me as far as things missing from my apartment. They stole nearly $800 worth of personal possessions! I knew it had to be the maintenance workers because of the fact there was no sign of a break in. I reported it to the office as well as they did absolutely nothing. They even hinted that I was making the entire thing up to simply get out of my lease. I filed a police report but not much else could be done. We broke our lease paid the fee and left. I refused to stay and have more things taken from me.
