Good, not great

I have lived here a couple of years now and I firmly believe that while life is what you make it, you can't blame everyone else for your problems, and there's no point in having a negative attitude with ultimately ridiculously high expectations, there is something to be said for honesty. The purpose of these websites is to try to give an honest report of your experiences while living here, and that is what I will try to do...
First off, the parking situation is just absolutely aweful. I understand that it is a very normal problem to have at an apartment complex, but just be aware that you will more than likely need to do some walking if everyone parks in the spaces closest to your apartment...

Secondly, the noise issue is not great either. I recommend staying FAR away from second floor units because you literally have someone underneath you, above you, and then TWO adjoining units you can hear a lot noise from. I know that is not unique to SRC, but the paper thin walls ARE. I myself have lived in three different apartment units since moving in and the only time I've not had a problem with noise is when I've lived on the top floor.

Third, I had the WORST experience where there was an obvious leak in the guest bathroom. I called in that to the office and within a day or so they came out when I was at work and left a note saying that the problem had been fixed. A week or so later, the leak was back with a vengeance, and this time it was also in the second bathroom. I called the office, someone was sent out while I was at work, and again left a note stating the leak issue had been fixed. Well this actually continued for a 60 day period, with a total of 5 work orders. The final time I received a letter from the manager offering her apologies and assuring me that the leak issue had finally been resolved. They had torn off all of the siding in both bathrooms and I effectively had two non-functional showers (because the wood needed "drying out"). After noticing the pungent smell of rotting wood and APPEARANCE of mold, the office was notified. Remember, this has been an ongoing issue for months and it was during a hot summer. At the mere mention of the possibility of the "M" word, I was abruptly ordered to move units or move out... but again, that's their own damn fault. I'm not the one who didn't do my job for months...and if I had not held up my end of the deal in any type of situation in such a significant and consistent way, I would have been held accountable.
If anyone knows how much moving SUCKS, imagine being a single mother of a 2 year old and having to move on a day's notice, all due to the incompetence of the maintenance staff. Had they done their job the first three or so times they had been made aware of the issue, I more than likely would not have needed to move.
On top of that, I was made to feel like the fact that I had to move was MY fault because I feared the mold situation! AND they PROMISED that I would be able to see a copy of the mold report and I even have that promise in writing, and yet after the move they REFUSED to show me that report, because according to them: I no longer lived in that unit therefore it was no longer my concern.
BULL----! The obvious point is that I HAD lived there and I have every right to know whether or not I was being exposed to poisonous mold or not. I was just supposed to take their WORD FOR IT about the fact that there was no mold...this coming from a management that had just lost serious credibility with the entire situation to start off with. I had been told FIVE TIMES that the problem was fixed that got me in this position to start with!
Had I had a little more time, money, resources, etc, I absolutely would have pursued legal action to at least result in myself being provided with the mold report. Just mentioning that resulted in being bullied by the manager and being served with a 3 day notice to vacate!!
The situation ended up being smoothed over, because I couldn't move AGAIN and they truly had no legitimate basis to make me leave, and they must have known that.
Funny tid-bit- after moving out a week or so later, a plumber showed up to my new unit @ RRS because the maintenance guys were here fixing something else...and he stated that the problem was STILL being fixed and the leak was much more serious than they thought. Had I not alerted the management to the possible mold situation, the leak would have only progressively worsened causing even more seriously detrimental damage. I more than likely SAVED THEM MONEY by taking the action that I did.
I will mention that the old maintenance supervisor from years ago is no longer with RRS, and the current maintenance guy that comes out is always really, really nice and gets the job done.
Fourth, depending on the location of your building, overall- the trash situation is awful!
Be aware of the distance of the dumpsters in relation to your unit. There's a chance you'll be taking a hike every time you need to dump your trash.
I thought I was moving to a complex with VALET trash service!
Also- I recently received a notice on my door about the regulation of the appearance of my balcony. Only patio furniture is allowed, and you're not allowed to have shades or anything obstructing the view of the "whites of your blinds". I honestly think this is ridiculous, especially for the units who receive direct sunlight in the hottest times of the day and have bamboo shades up, but I know this is not something uncommon with many other complexes. I am currently moving into a complex with no such balcony policy.

I have had tremendous service from ------- always. He is in fact fabulous. He is great with people, knowledgeable, helpful, understanding, proactive and efficient. He kept me here a few times when I was completely ready to buyout my lease early and LEAVE.

The grounds are always neat and clean. Most of the residents are nice and orderly, no big parties, mostly families, military, and older retirees.

The layouts of the apartments are cute. The kitchens look modern...the ovens suck and do not get hot.
The dishwashers are loud as HECK!

There are a lot of units with great views. I've always felt safe.
