Rosemont Apartments are pretty decent, the office and grounds staff are VERY friendly and helpful (although often forget to follow up on things they say they'll look into). Maintenance problems get fixed very quickly (usually same day or next day) although I had a problem with an internal sliding door which took the repair man a couple of times to fix, not his fault IMO.
The grounds are well kept, pet poop is a minor problem in grassy areas although residents are instructed to clean up after themselves in bins provided. Parking is a problem at certain times of the day/year. Assigned spaces are $30 a month and although you can almost always find a parking space inside the complex you may have to park a long way from your apartment. The stairways were a little tight for moving and I've seen people throw things off the balcony instead of carrying them downstairs. Breezeways are well lit and the community is gated with a code (although left open at times). Also bike racks are spread out across the grounds however DO NOT USE THEM (see the next section)

My main problems with Rosemont are:
a) The rent is extremely high. I'm moving apartments (not saying where so this doesn't seem like an ad) but it's in the same zip code and its $200 cheaper for 200 more square feet.
b) although the community is gated, areas well lit and a courtesy officer present the community is NOT safe. I left my bike (a birthday present..) locked in one of these racks and sometime between 9am and 1pm (yes, in broad daylight) my bike, along with a number of others, all locked, was stolen. A number of police reports were filed and it was revealed that the courtesy officer was on vacation at the time (coincidence'). I now keep my new bike on the third floor inside my apartment.
c) The central heating system made me nauseous. I'm not a generally allergic person, I've never had allergies before coming to San Antonio and now only for about a month in Spring to cedar or something. When winter came around and I had to start using central heating I found that when I turned on heat I felt dizzy (falling over dangerously dizzy) and got headaches. I waited a few days hoping the problem would go away and then contacted the leasing office. They sent someone to look at it (I was hoping they would clean the coils or something) who proceeded to look at the control panel and say "Yeah, it's working fine". I ended up using a lot of blankets and space heaters.
