I have lived in many apartments across the country having been prior military. I have been in some very interesting apartments and seen poor staff and maintenance. But Rosemont at Palo Alto is BY FAR THE WORST!
When I first moved in I did a walk through of the place and wrote down everything wrong. I asked them nicely to fix things for the next several months. My lease is about to end in a month or so and never once have I seen anyone from maintenance. I honestly don't believe it is a problem with the maintenance though. The problem is with the office. Telling the staff of your problems is as far as your problem will get. It goes in one of their ears and right out the other. They are very rude too. This is low income housing. But to assume that the tenants are of low intelligence is just ignorant. If you rent here be prepared to feel stupid and of no importance. Being nice and kind or even upset and rude does absolutely nothing. They even brush you off and try to get you to call them with problems so they don't have to see you face to face.
The property seems new and even clean when driving through it. It is not until you get out of your car and look at the grounds and realize than absolutely every inch is covered with cigarette butts. The laundry facilities are a mess. People throw trash everywhere. A homeless man hopped out of the dumpster (scaring me half to death) and asked me if I just got out of the shower. The pool is a mess. It looks good from the office window until you get in it and are swimming in a sea of toilet paper and only God knows what else. I do not have screens on my windows. There is an improper seal on my door so I can feel both the heat (from outside) on the inside and my air conditioned air( blowing out) from the outside. They have your air conditioning unit set up to leak into your hall bathtub instead of being released outside. Because of this, I wake up every morning to a bathtub full of black junk and filthy water in my bathtub. I have to scrub my tub every day before I can give my kids a bath. Then there were the mice!! I don't know if it was because they were clearing the land next to the apartment or what. But we caught 24 (yes 24!!) mice in our apartment. I was trying to figure out where they even were getting in at. I finally chased a mouse under my stove and then couldn't find it. I moved the stove and low and behold there was a big hole. Of course telling the apartment staff got us absolutely no where. Luckily, it is warmer weather now and even though I still have traps everywhere and am consistently paranoid and thinking I just saw a mouse out of the corner of my eye, I have not actually seen or caught any in the last two months. I have to usher all kinds of bugs out of my apartment every morning because they crawl very easily under the door. You can hear everyone through the walls. When people are talking in between the apartments in front of their doors, its sounds like they are in your apartment talking with you. You can hear every toilet flush and every step someone takes.
The final straw....... I appreciate that Rosemont at Palo Alto was trying to clean and repaint the parking lot recently. I receive a notice when they did both on my side of the apartment. However I was under the impression that when they sent a letter addressed to the residents of rosemont at palo alto, that they were giving this letter to absolutely every tenant. They even had a map on the back of the whole complex and the area highlighted that they were going to be working on that day. I was assuming I would be receiving one with the other side of the apartments on it soon. This was not the case. I went to go to my car today to move it back. I have been busy the last few days and have not even been home to be able to do so. But of course my car was not there. So I went to the office. and asked where my car was. No one could look me in the eyes. They said they didn't send notices to my side of the complex because the would ASSUME that I wouldn't be parked over on that side. I would understand their point if there were designated parking. But being that ROSEMONT AT PALO ALTO allows you to park anywhere, to assume where I park and to not notify the whole complex of the work they are going to be doing and the grief and expense they are possibly going to cause you, is just stupid. I got a little upset at that point. I started to vent about my situation and why I had not moved both of my cars back from when they did my side of the apartment complex. I didn't catch her name. But one of the staff (unable to look me in the eyes) said "everyone has a difficult situation that they deal with." I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss her situation if the roles were reversed. But hey, I believe that whatever goes around, comes around.
Needless to say, I found my car. They gave it a flat tire when moving it. So I have to pay the fine they are going to charge me to move my car (even thought they moved it without notice) and I have pay for a new tire. This is all because they were to lazy to give everyone a notice throughout the whole apartment complex.
Please rent at a different apartment complex. I read reviews too. I thought... oh people are just mad. I'll treat the staff very nicely and I won't have a problem. You don't want to deal with this apartment complex for even a few months believe me. You will be much happier somewhere else. Find somewhere where the staff will treat you with the respect that a human being (to say the least) deserves.

YOUR HORROR STORY IS WORSE THAN MINE...AND YOUR RIGHT THOSE IDIOTS IN THE OFFICE COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE TENANTS OF ROSEMONT. I THINK MAYBE THEY SHOULD BE BETTER OFF AT COSMOTOLOGY SCHOOL SO THAT THEY CAN LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY STYLE THEIR HAIR...LOL! THOSE IDIOTS NAMES ARE MEGAN, DENISE, AND LULU...OH YES LET'S NOT FORGET THE BIGGEST IDIOT OF THEM ALL THE MANAGER GRACE BANKES..THEY ALL NEED TO LEARN SOME MANNERS, AND STOP TURNING THEIR NOSES UP WHEN WE NEED THEIR HELP OR INFORMATION. WHAT THE THE HELL ARE THEY THERE FOR? NOT TO LOOK PRETTY THATS FOR SURE, IF THAT'S THE CASE THEY NEED TO HIRE SOMEONE ELSE TO REPLACE THEM UUUUGGGHHH!!!AND YOU'RE RIGHT WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND...THEY WILL GET REPREMANDED FOR THEIR UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR TOWARD THE TENANTS OF ROSEMONT. THE STAFF AND MANAGER THINK NO ONE WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, BUT THEY BETTER THINK TWICE. I AM SO SORRY FOR THE WAY YOU HAVE BEEN TREATED...JUST READ THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON HERE....WE ARE NOT ALONE. ROSEMONT WASN'T ALWAYS LIKE THIS, UNTIL THESE IN-HUMANE IDIOTIC PEOPLE STARTED WORKING HERE.....
