My girlfriend and I have lived in these apartments for two months, and we're having a terrible experience. We live in a corner apartment and the majority of our surrounding neighbors (upstairs and next door) are noisy. Our upstairs neighbors are especially noisy, and their dog barks incessantly while they aren't home. We have gone to their door, talked to management, and even called the cops. It just gets worse. After complaining to management that we couldn't sleep at 3a.m. due to loud stomping and the dog barking, our neighbors threw a vindictive tantrum the next day and stomped around liked little kids sent to their room. They stomped so hard that the shroud on our kitchen light rattled off. The loud noise after 10p.m. is a breach of contract and against city ordinance. College kids or not, they should have to honor their contract or be evicted. They are adults and should be held to the same standards. If these kids are the future, then I'm scared. The manager is rude and condescending. My girlfriend and I deserve more respect. She served as a police officer, and I served in the Navy. She nor I should be treated like a child by The manager. The manager should be treating those who are acting like children as children instead of patronizing good tenants. The manager even had the audacity to push my girlfriend out of her office. If management doesn't uphold others to the terms of their contract, why should we have to be held to mine. We are paying to much in rent to have this kind of senselessness.
Besides the noise and poor management, this place is like a dog kennel. Management doesn't do anything about the dog excrement all over the complex; it must be part of the landscaping. The excrement is everywhere, even next to sidewalks and parking spaces. Walking in the grass is like walking in an excrement mine field. I would not advise walking anywhere but the sidewalk or street. There are several animal waste bags receptacles about the premise but apparently they aren't used. In addition, the security is sub par. The drive in gates only work a portion of the time. One night, the exit gate just opened and shut all night long by itself. If you were trying to sneak in on foot, you could just sneak through the space between the fence and the post near the trash compactor. On the subject of trash compactor... Rarely, almost never, have I not seen it overflowing. People are too lazy to push the button on the compactor so they pile the trash outside it. Once I compacted the trash and left the door closed (as an experiment). I came back the next day, and trash was piled up outside the compactor. People are so lazy they can't pull a latch and open the door. There was plenty of space for trash if they'd bother to open door. There are only two compactors, and they are always full. On top of that I found graffiti on my garage. One day I found a steak knife stuck in the limestone facade near the next door apartment. This place is a circus. Maintenance is a joke too. Our house has white dust all over the furniture. I figured out that is was a huge pile of sheet rock dust directly in front of the air conditioner filter. Putting the cheapest new air filter you can find just doesn't cut it. The pile of very fine sheet rock dust in front needs to be vacuumed too. Our garage was in disrepair (after supposed repairs) when we moved in. The light was dangling on one loose screw and the electrical wire; I repaired it myself in about five minutes. My Advice is don't move here if you are a serious person. If you don't mind a lack of respect, decency, and a good night's sleep, then move to the San Miguel.

Actually in America we speak English. Look at a dictionary sometime. Why not post a stupid comment on the majority of the other reviews that say almost the same thing I've said about San Miguel.

Because you are picking on animal friendly commuties, and you make no sence. There is walkways so you dont have to walk on the grass, and dog excrement is supose to be on grass. If you ever glance at the same spot twice, which you probably do, you will realize that places that have been defecated on will be greener and lusher than others. Your are not much of a scientist as your retarded experiment caused the trash to pile up because when someone closes the trash disposal door it means its full. I saw the maintenace guy had to pile his way through all the trash to open the door and then proceeded to clean up after your retarded accions mr stock market investor. You should spend your time being with your girl rather than taking photographs of excrement and your fat body going through a random gap, by the way, why do you hide your face?

Actually, the door is supposed to be shut when the trash is being compacted. Do you know why the trash should be compacted? You compact the trash so you can fit in more trash, MR. Scientist. That was the point I was making. Just as you don't understand how to use the trash COMPACTOR, most of the other residents don't know how to use one, or they are just plain lazy. I think it to be the latter. I've illustrated this point by taking pictures of about 20 apartments with their trash sitting outside of their apartment doors and on their balconies. Guess what? The trash compactor was empty with the door open that day. I guess it's my fault that people in the San Miguel think this is a dorm and not an "apartment home" as this place is called on www.thesanmiguel.com.
I am thankful this place is pet friendly. It's so friendly they have bag stations for picking up the dog excrement conveniently located about the premises. Judging by your logic, if you have any logic or know what that means, you probably think they are merely for decoration.
Don't you lecture me about walkways. There was dog poop in the middle of the walk way to the mailbox one night (of which I have photos). There should not be dog poop on the walk way to the mailbox. Panchiomex I wonder if you get excited when you step in dog poop. Do you say to yourself, "Man, I sure am glad that this place is animal friendly"?
While you are trying to answer that, learn how to spell, i.e.: sence, supose, maintence, accions, etc. If you want people to think you are credible, then you should learn how to spell. Your statement about dog poop making grass green has no merit. Do your research first Mr. Scientist. Read this article from Fox News (who has more credibility than you ever will) http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,202873,00.h The article states that dog poop kills grass and pollutes water supplies.

I filed a lawsuit against that place for breach of contract and won a $5,000 settlement! I acted as my own attorney, so it did not cost me a dime!
