GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN

When I moved in a perk was the cheap rent and the assigned parking. They also promised an on-site "coutesy officer" who was also a real police officer for SAPD would respond promptly to any problems including parking. Parking was a nightmare, no one cared even those who had there own spot. When you called the office they said someone would come out and no one ever did. They sent out notices every other month that threaten to tow people, but they never did. Now there is no assigned parking, they said it was to much to enforce. Maybe they should have towed people if they said they were going to.

The units are old and the repeated paint-over(s) show it. I did get new carpeting though when moved in. They are under new management now though for about last 6 months, they tried to beatify with a Gazebo and some fancy signs, but they still can't pick up all the damn trash that the other tenants throw everywhere. Another management change was the cost of water. My bill for my unit averaged between $6 and $10 every month before change, then they went to a flat $25 per room regardless. When asked about the differnece they said it was to pay for waste removal(which had never been billed before) and beautification. They could have saved us all money by just picking up the trash everyone threw everywhere.

Cops are seen at least once every 2 weeks, sometimes more than twice in 1 day. Surroundings tennants usually yelling or slamming doors, talking outside loudly on the patio at 4am during the week when people trying to sleep. Some idiot always rolling through in a dropped piece of crap with 20 inch rims(but there chrome) and bad stereo blaring, usually at 4am also.

In general the grounds are poorly kept, my neighbors are a 50/50 split between don't even know they are their and calling the cops to get them to shut up. The management can respond promptly, but you have to pester.

My cable went out once because one of the other tennants broke into the box to hook up his own and disconnected mine in the process.

Me and my girlfriend are getting a place together and we won't even consider a place on a street where we have to drive by this place. It's cheap if you have poor standards and a lot of patience.
