These apartments were once a really great place to live at until the past year or so. Management is horrible, maintenence is slow (& they don't FIX the problem like they used to, they PATCH things up which is even more irritating b/c I have to turn around & call them to come right back & fix the same problem). When I first moved in, there used to be pretty decent residents around, now it seems as though they're just letting anyone come in! I checked Spice Creek on the SAPD website and I couldn't believe how many robberies & thefts were actually listed! My neighbors in 3 different directions are loud as hell (music, stomping above in the apartment & on the catwalks, fighting), yet when I want to have people over, it's a problem. I called the so-called 'courtesy patrol' which actually goes through another party in order to dispatch the officer, and either they don't show up or by the time they FEEL LIKE SHOWING UP, the party's over and it's the next morning already!! (Not to mention that the dispatch operators are also rude!) Oh, and one last thing: I've been such a long resident (I had planned on moving out earlier this year) but I never once got a letter or a memo or a reminder that my lease was soon to be up... SO... instead I got a letter saying that I owed Spice Creek 'X' amount of money to them for the difference of my regular rent and the month-to-month rent (since the lease expired). I was told by the manager at the time that "if I re-new, I didn't have to worry about the differnce" (Gee, thanks a lot) AND that she "figured I had been with them for so long, that I was going to re-new my lease anyway"!! I was so ticked off by the whole thing. My lesson learned is to follow up on my lease, b/c obviously they won't help me at all like they used to. I had no choice but to re-new b/c I thought my lease was still a couple months away from expiration and I had some time to look for another place but I had nothing else set up. It's frustrating!! So don't come here if you value you & your family & your sanity!!!!! It's NOT worth it!
