My patience is beginning to wane...

I've been living at this complex for three years, and in that time, my experience has been decent, it really has. However my patience, as the title states, is becoming thin. At our last unit, there were persistent problems with the water heater and the tile in our bathroom, which kept falling out and kept having to be repaired, only to fall out over again. So on virtue of being unable to shower for days at a time, either because of no hot water or because there was drying tile on the walls, it was irritating.

But, aside from that, everything about this place is great. People leave you alone, you are allowed to live without interference, something that my family prizes, and in general, you get a smiling face every time you go into the office.

In our new unit, persistent problems with the air conditioner have been interfering with our lives. Although the staff is always friendly, I feel as though the smiling faces aren't accomplishing anything...I've called on our air conditioner at least five times in the last two months, and the same problems keep appearing. Last night, after being told that the problem was fixed only to have it die again, my husband and I both ended up losing our tempers, and I left a rather unfortunate voice message sometime after I came home from work...so I guess we'll see if this makes it clear that we are no longer willing to be patient.

EDIT: Progress! After ceasing to be understanding and patient with the issues at hand, and leaving a long and very uncivil message at four in the morning illustrating this fact...the A/C unit has been replaced. Maybe the people in the office just weren't aware of how longstanding an issue it was, or how much it was bothering us. The unit was replaced on the same day.

I'm amazed. Moreover, I'm happy. Because this could have been an innocent oversight, I've chosen to change my ratings slightly, considering how immediate the turn-around was.

On top of that, the manager gets a nod for having calm under fire. I said some very unpleasant things to her revolving around the situation, and she persisted in being calm and professional, despite it. SEk1KnECheF1ATXbXtrZ

There are occasionally dealers wandering around the complex, usually cruising slowly in a car - there's one white guy with a brown 'fro who toodles around on a bicycle selling, but I hadn't seen him in a while. Sometimes the security guards at Spice Creek make me feel less safe rather than moreso. There's one guy who parks his car next to building nine - I've caught him looking up into my windows, and he doesn't seem to realize that when I'm walking out to my car, I don't WANT to talk to him. He's ------- creepy. The buildings up at the top of the hill seem to have a bigger crime problem than the lower buildings...the three story ones with the efficiency apartments, I mean. In three years, I've seen countless police cars parked out front of that building, people sitting out on their porches and hazing passersby, etc. If you are going to get a bigger apartment at Spice Creek, it should be perfectly fine, but I wouldn't get an efficiency there.
