Day of my move in: The apt smelled of pest control spray. The maintenence staff were shampooing the carpet (my movers had to pile all of my belongings on the patio until they finished). They obviously made this decision at the last minute because the carpet stained and torn, needing obvious replacment. I wanted to tear up my contract then and there. On my day of move in, Saturday, I was not handed the key until 3:45 in the afternoon, with no apolgy. A whole day wasted. During my residence: SAPD frequented the parking lots because of violence. My vehicle was broken into and vandlized. Management could of cared less of my feeling of saftey. The back security gate would never work. There has always been a waterbug problem. Foundation problems were reported to the office and no one came to check the large cracks or called me back to asure me that it was okay for the wall to split the way it did. Laundry room was always dirty. Grass areas had no grass, they had a layer of mold that formed on top (below stairwells). Mngt has recently started to renovate the landscape and add water sprinklers). The pool has always appeared clean. But there has been an increase of undesirable people leasing. The bar-b-que area is always dirty. I'm glad to be gone. Maintenance has changed several times since I've lived here, hopfully they improve their turnaround time on orders. Finally, the answering service...never leave your message with them. They will not relay it to the office staff (or that is yet another lie told by the office). My opinion: I would not recommend leasing at this complex if you are a family who expects a decent standard of living. Stone Oak is for young singles with no regard to their environment, just needing a place to crash with their dog. In regards to the DeZavala/IH 10 area, this complex is the getto. Good luck!
