As an officer in the military, we knew this would be a temporary stay because I had an assignment relocating me out of the state. During the move-in inspection everything was acceptable. The carpet had spots and that was noted. Also the carpet had a small cut (as if sliced with a sharp cutter) like the carpenter added a piece of carpet rather than replacing the entire carpet. My wife mentioned this and the representative stated that it was nothing to worry about because it was obvious. Make sure that you have all discrepancies documented. During our 10 month stay the property was well maintained and lighting was good. The gym was decent, however the equipment did not always work. It often took over a week before the equipment was repaired. Maintenance (for apartment repairs)usually responded the day after the request was made (not including weekends). This was an inconvenience. Parking was frustrating but manageable. You are assignend parking, but if somenone is in your space you have to park in a non-assigned area and that can be several hundreds of feet away. Then you have to notify management or the security guard (if he is on duty) and wait for them to respond. The managers are respectable. However, there is one individual, whom I will not name in regards to the guidelines, who is very arrogant in her responses. To enter into the apartment community, you have to cross a bridge that will often get flooded. If this happens, the other options into the community will take you 15 min and much more if during rush hour. You don't have to travel far to meet daily needs. The complex is near a mall, shopping centers, grocery stores, car care centers etc... Upon moving out, they will try to keep every dime of your security deposit that they can. We were charged for that piece of carpet that was cut because it was not documented and apparently that particular representative no longer works there. During the final inspection the cut was not noted by the management who was with us and I signed acknowledging all that was noted. Yet we received a notice at our new address stating that a cut/tear was found and we were responsible. We argued it but to no avail.
I would only recommend this apartment for a short term lease. I would not recommend it to a friend.
