Ok, so I just moved in at the beginning of January and here's my take. Keep in mind everything I write is for the "new" side.
I had a little trouble before moving in b/c they do A LOT of digging into your background. That's fine and makes me feel secure, but it was more checking my guarantor then me which bothered me a little (nothing to hide, just felt it was a little more invasive then it should've been since my guarantor isn't the one living there).
Since moving in, I truly haven't had too many problems and anything needing maintenance has been fixed within a very reasonable time frame. It usually gets fixed that day or the next.
The apartment itself was very clean upon move-in and very nice looking. Yes, I can hear the people above me when they walk heavy, but I don't know of an apartment that you can't.
Parking is good if you're a resident, not great if you're a guest. We get one covered and one uncovered spot. When the uncovered spot they assigned us was way across the complex, the office staff worked hard to find one closer to us. They found one the day I had called and it was very close. There are about 5-6 guest spots close to my building, which are almost always full if you get there later then 5 or so. However, there is ample guest parking closer to the office, although far from my building, not too bad and close to other buildings.
I haven't had any issues with security. The gates are not working right now, I don't know when that will be fixed. From what the office told me, they are waiting on parts. There is a courtesy officer 5 nights a week and although he doesn't really check people coming in, I do see him driving around the property every so often. The covered parking has ample lighting and the hallways outside the apartment doors also have a lot of lighting. You have a front door light, but you don't need it.
Traffic is not the greatest around the mall, although I usually do not have any major problems during morning rush hour. I wasn't here during the Christmas rush, but it did get conjested way more then usual during the days before Valentine's Day.
I can't comment on the move-out procedure because I'm still here. My guess would be that although they may be pickier then other complexes (i.e. the nail holes in the wall, which they made VERY clear upon signing the lease that it was 50 cents per hole), if you clean your carpet and your appliances properly and take pictures for proof then there shouldn't be a problem. Just my thoughts, we'll see if I'm right later on.
Overall, a good property. Again, I speak for the new side, not the old side. I've never even driven around the old side so I'm not sure how it is over there.
