Love the location but can't wait to move

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
My lease is up in June and after 2 years of being here, I can't wait to move. When I first moved here, I loved the antique fixtures, hardwood floors and lay-out of the apartment. All of that added together made it feel more like a home.
Plus the maintenance of the complex itself was great. That has since changed and I feel like I live more in a ghetto than in beautiful Alamo Heights. Trash is everywhere, the lawn is no longer nicely kept, the roof leaks, I have HUGE cockroaches as well as ants all over the apartment regardless of countless "fumigations".
And now, with the remodeling that is going on, the apartments look cheap just like the previous reviewer stated. The floors in the newly remodled kitchen don't match the counters which don't match the charm of the original apartment. Plus for a 970 sq ft apartment, they want to raise the rent to meet market value.
Hint, not too far down the road is a complex named Chelsea Apartments. You can get a 1400 sq ft apartment at market rate (approx $1085). Much better deal, well maintained, and nice something that Sunset Ridge no longer is.
