Pretty on the outside, but they haven't read the definition of "luxury"

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2002
The buildings and grounds are quite attractive, being located next to a beautiful golf course. Nontheless, it has taken me four maintenance visits to get the management to finally fix (truly needed replacement, but couldn't get them to do that, until the last visit) a leaking bathtub faucet.
Additionally, the apartment is gated ("they are privacy gates, not security gates"), but there have been several times when the gates were left open for days at a time with no notice or explaination.
This brings up another thing. If I inquire about problems, they will put out a "rush" memo on each apartment door. They could put the information out in advance, but rarely do. This has happened more than once when the apartments scheduled water repairs, but neglected to inform the residents they would be done. When I call to ask how long it will be off, they type up a sheet and post in on each door. Sort of like closing the barn door after all cattle have escaped.
I've also noticed that Talavera doesn't answer it's phones very often during the day. If you need to ask about something, you have to leave a message, then they'll call you back.
One remedy for the problems at Talavery/Legends would be to hire older, more experienced management professionals. They hire young, attractive appartment leasing agents. I can only assume they are good for the companies immediate bottom line (i.e., they are cheap) but they really don't reflect well on Talavera's advertisement that they are a luxury apartment.
To demonstrate that the apartments are more concerned about the bottom line than in truly first class management I would offer the following: For two months a pedestrian gate had a broken lock (same gate had a broken hinge later). I finally asked the concierge when it would be fixed. Her response' What gate' What lock' Where is it' Sadly, it was the gate immediately across from the entrance to the offices - and had been plainly visible as open and unlocked for weeks. When I told her about it, it was fixed within a few days. But maintenance staff, and leasing staff, and management staff when by the gate repeatedly many times each day AND NEVER NOTICED IT WAS BROKEN. If I were the manager, I'd walk the property frequently, just to see for myself what needed repairing - but again, I'm old enough to care.
On the up side, attached garages, which are extra, are very nice.
