Too many Problems

We just needed an apartment while our house was finishing construction and this seemed like a good solution, the apartment shows well and the rent is not too bad but the problems began on the day we were told we could move in. I had to wait in their office roughly 3 hours to get my keys while I had a car load of things to put in the apartment while my wife had to wait alone at our storage facility. When we finally did get to move in, the apartment was very dirty, kitchen floor and counter were dirty, there were things in the freezer. Bathroom toilets were disgusting. We found out on the first night there that one of the breakers were bad and it caused the lights to go out all the time until it was fixed. If an apartment is not ready for move in, don't tell people they can move in on that date. The office staff is arrogant and cocky, they are unfamiliar with what their lease actually says. Rent is due on the first of the month, I went by their office twice when they were supposed to be open according to their office hours but no one was there to accept the payment. I went in on the following day to make the payment and I was told it was late and should of used the drop box. Although their lease says that it is my responsiblity to hand deliver the rent and the drop box is only for convenience and they are not responsible for lost rent payments. When I said something about the check getting lost from being put in the drop box I was told "We don't have that problem." First, no need to be arrogant about it, even the best staff loses things from time to time, and secondly if it isn't a problem, remove it from the lease. Secondly, I was told that late payments can only be paid by a money order. The only place it says that a money order is required for rent is when a check comes back unpaid or a notice to pay has been issued, neither of which had occurred. The apartments themselves are very noisy, especially if you get a unit over a garage and you get to here the garage door opener every time. You can also here people talking outside of the apartment, so I assume they can here everything that I say in the unit as well. I would definitly not recommend this apartment to anyone.
