Do not rent here. I made the mistake of signing a lease and I consider it my duty to help others NOT make the same mistake.

Hi I Lived there from 2001-2008. Yes too long of a time, however it was closs to work and grocery store,major highways. Everytime the contract came to renew my husband and I convinced ourselves to stay because we just didnt feel like packing and having to look for a new apartment. I experienced everything I just read in the other reviews. From bad customer service in office face to face, over phone.They had too many management changes, the last year was the worst.. I would leave messages with answering service never received call backs.I would call in a maintenance request and no one would come by for days. I had tons of water leaks in my apartment since I lived bottom. There were so many brown stains on my walls(bedroom, kitchen, laundry room, closets, rest room)when I'd call to have the problem fixed, they never replaced the texturing or sheet rock or even applied some paint. I would wake up and my water would be shut off, my toilet backed up because of bad pipes, so did my dishwasher. We bagan to notice mold all over, I have the pictures to show for.My carpet, id wake up and it would be soaked because of problems with leaks. I was pregnant I called office since mold is dangerous, the office personel suggessted I just spray bleach on walls. They did not even schedule a repair for me. funny huh. I'd come home from lunch during day neighbors were outside smoking pot at all hours of days, the maintenance men would pass right in front and didnt do anything. We began receiving letters from office asking us to always keep our doors locked due to increase in apartment break ins, when my husband told the office to fix the front electric gates(since always broken), the office workers lied and said the gates were always in good conditions. It got pretty scary there, at nights neighbors radios would be full blast, we had to call the cops several times. One time one neighbors car was lite on fire, my husband and several neighbors went out bravely to help turn off and save our vehicles. We complained to office about how safety was becoming an issue they said they had no control who visited apartments. I became pregnant and my husband was afraid to leave me home alone. The funny thing is that my least expired.(NOT SO FUNNY) I called the office before, to advise them would not be renewing. Three months later I still had not received a new lease. The word was they were trying to force one of my front neighbors whos lease also expired, they wanted to just extend it since he had not moved out on his own. (into a 1 year lease and not honor his 6 month lease that had already expired) When I asked them were my new lease was they said that it was my sole responsibility to ensure I got a new one. Im not sure what they wanted me to do other that type one up myself. I left trails of Westlakes. Now I am in collections and receivng harrassing calls saying they will take me to court. Apparently the day I turned in my key was changed to a few days later, now they are charging me that months full rent. I can honestly say that I will never recommend anyone to live here. I have learned my lesson. Good Luck!
