Wanted to Live Near UTSA okay apartment but overpriced

The floor plan is pretty good...the 1 bedroom apartment has a nice big kitchen and the bedroom has two well sized walk in closets, and the place does feel very open overall. Nevertheless, this place is overpriced. You get a one bedroom for the same amount of money as a 2 bedroom in a newer apartment complex. Utilities are included, which is nice, however, the internet is painfully slow.

As for the condition of the apartment, it seems to be relatively new, about 10 to 15 years old. We've only had one maintenance issue..three of our four stove top burners wasn't working when we moved in. My boyfriend put in a request, which was apparently completly overlooked. When we put in another very angry complaint, they fixed the issue right away.

If you are not from San Antonio, be aware that this apartment complex is conveniently located near UTSA, however, you will be 35 mins from downtown.

The complex is quiet. There's adequate parking, however, you have to pay for a parking pass...which they don't tell you upfront. Our gates did't work for 80% of our stay...and the gates at other entrances didn't work ever.

Overall, this place really is not worth the money ($890 for a 1 bedroom - 640 sq/ft). You can pay the same amount for a larger 1 bedroom in a complex that is only 2 years old with nice new appliances and w/d in the unit. Our lease is up in a month and we are definitely excited to be leaving.

We moved in from out of town which is the only reason we got stuck here...now that we have a better idea of what's available I would say the easiest way to go about searching for a place is to contact those free real estate agents that get paid by the complex. They have an insane database of information that is easily searched and can help you narrow down your choices. I wish they could just make that information available to the public without the middle men.
