Ventana presents itself well in the beginning...we will call it the honeymoon. The honeymoon is over once you pick up your keys. We lived there 18 months and the experience went downhill each month. Management is concerned only with their money; if you like loud parties that run until 3:30 or 4:00 a.m. each weekend this is the place for you. If you like smokers who cast their cigarette butts on your balcony from theirs, this is the place for you. If you like to wake up to the smell of pet droppings (and the occassional pet swimming escapades in the luxurious resort style pools) this is the place for you.

My first night on the property somebody tried to steal my truck! On night two, they came back and tried it from the other side. It's a good thing they list onsite security personnel (actually it's a call center with an ANSWERING MACHINE who directs you to call SAPD).

Management is unwilling to listen to your concerns for even the smallest request: My blinds were broken the entire first lease. Numerous times I requested them replaced and each time they BANDAGED them together. What high class. It was only after I informed them I would be replacing them myself, supplying them with the receipt and deducting it from my rent payment that they finally relented.
When we decided to move they charged us for water and electricity WHEN WERE WEREN'T EVEN THERE (and they acknowledged this); we purchased a house and vacated 2 months early. Because we owned an apartment above the "luxurious resort style pool" we figured they would easily rent this out and reimburse us a pro rated amount. WRONG! They wanted the keys immediately, for us to pay out our rent and utilities and the apartment junior manager (AM) stated we would still pay for the amount even if they rented out. We kept the keys, attempted to speak to a real manager (who was probably the next junior manager) and received the same answer. On our last "official" day the real manager hit us with a brick in the head: you should have told us you were moving out earlier and we would have gladly rented it out and pro rated it for you. This is what you get when you the junior managers screen customers for the real manager.

This property should qualify for section 8 (drive through there and you will see). It's a joke...from the junior managers to the maintenance crew to the non-functioning gates.

DTA...don't trust anybody, especially the junior managers. They will tell you what they want you to hear, present the property as an upscale living community and fail to live up to their expectations.
