the reviews speak for themselves!!!

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2002
I've lived in 4 different apartment complexes and these apartments were the best deal for space. I was paying about $900 for a 3 bedroom/3 bath place that was very spacious. The air conditioning was very efficient. Neighbors were OK - kind of loud and lots of parties - didn't really bother me too much. The downside - hmm where to start. Parking was a pain. The spots are all designed for compact or sub-compact cars and the spaces are very narrow. There aren't enough parking spots near the apartments so if you came home at the wrong time - you have to walk a bit (which isn't the worse thing in the world). The biggest pain about parking is that if you have a friend over at night - you have to get a guest pass during the day from MANAGEMENT. So if someone wants to stop by for a while and you didn't know earlier in the day - there's a good chance their car will be towed. And those guest passes are only good for the night you get them. Oh and each additional car after 2 is $50 per month extra added to your rent. The maintenance staff is great at replacing air filters as soon as requested but anything else is beyond them. My dishwasher broke during a cycle and so there was water in it. I made maintenance requests for about 4 months and nothing happened - I ended up moving around the 5th month after the problem. The biggest annoyance was sugar ants in the bathrooms and master closet. My neighbor and I both had sugar ants in the bathroom. I had a daily ritual of cleaning the tub, toilet, and sink of the ants. And then when they got into the closet I had to move all my clothes into the bedroom. MANAGEMENT claimed they had sprayed for the ants but those ants were there until I moved out - luckily that only happened 2 months until I move out. As the other reviews said - MANAGEMENT is horrible. I can't imagine an apartment staff that is more deceitful and conniving. When I was moving out, I notified the staff a month in advance that I was not renewing my lease. The said no problem and everything was taken care of. I asked if there were any papers to sign and the girl said nothing more needed to be done on my part. So the day before I'm moving out, I go in the leasing office and they throw a fit. Since I didn't have any physical proof, I sucked it up and paid for an extra month's rent. So when they did their "walk-thru" - the walls needed painting. OK i guess MAYBE a few scuffs on the staircase walls from moving but that doesn't warrant keeping $150 of the deposit. There was no point arguing to deaf ears. So if you still want to move to these apartments - before you even visit the leasing office - make sure you cover any and all tattoos, guys remove large earrings, be weary of any noticeable piercings, and dress up a little. As desparate as MANAGEMENT is in getting people in there, they do treat people that fit the ideal tennant appearance ... differently. And if you don't believe the horror stories, if ask nice enough, the management at the apartment complexes across the street and next door will tell you other stories of people who have moved from International Residence.
