The problem with many apartment communities is that the office personnel and the maintenance crew often forget or don't understand that this is not a business to the tenants. This is our life. Our livelyhood. They have control over much of our lives and when we call with a complaint it is not a business problem it is something interrupting our hapiness in our home.
The maintenance in this community is Great. They are attentive, knowledgeable, and hard working. They are respectful in your home and fast and thorough. But their hands are often tied by the management. Whether that is the management company's fault or the in office management's fault who knows, but it sucks.
The parking is ATROCIOUS!!! The sad thing is that we have EXPENSIVE (if lost) parking permits but often can't find a spot because of non- permit cars taking up spots. In addition the complex will be glad to reserve a spot for you and they will spray paint your APT # and RESERVED on it ...FOR AN ADDITIONAL $30 A MONTH ON TOP OF THE RENT!!!!!Otherwise you are out of luck because they only provide the permits, not the parking. Fine for the average guy to walk two blocks and never know if your vehicle is safe or broken into...but if you have small children it is not so easy. So to put it together for you, on a 12 month lease if you pay $30 a month that is an additional $360 and if you lose your permit you can add another $50 to that.
Also, they HAD a moderate gym with 5 electric machines but when they were broken they did not get fixed and now there is no fitness center. What kind of tenants and what kind of security do we have''' A bunch of crap obviously. STAY AWAY!! There are better places for your money!!! Also, upstairs apartments are poorly insulated and you can pay $200 a month in electricity to have your bedroom at 85 degrees and never use your dryer!!! Perhaps if the owner's got replaced the management company or the owner's stopped being cheap then the office personnel could do a better job.
