Sweet at first, but ugly when it is time to move

I have seen multiple tenants, some friends of mine, absolutely fleeced when they needed to make arrangements to move-out. When you sign the lease, make sure to notice that you are agreeing to a 60 DAY NOTICE before you can leave. This is patently absurd, but just try to arrange for buying or building a house while minimizing your double payments to mortgage and rent. The staff here is not helpful in the least in this regard. Short-term leases are unheard of and you will more than likely be relegated to a month to month lease that increases your rent to "market value." This is code for REALLY EXPENSIVE. The pet deposit (I have two cats) cost me $500 and is non-refundable--this is in addition to the normal deposit that usually is returned in a vastly reduced amount.
