A new maangement company took over the complext in Aug. 2004. They literally drive the good tenants away by their laziness.
The apartment next to me was robbed. The apartment opposite mine was robbed. This happened within the space of 2 months. In spite of this, it took another 4 months for the entrance gates to be fixed.
The quality of the tenants has gone down dramatically. It used to attract working professionals, young families and retirees. Now, it attracts a lot of people who like to party. There are some tenants who get into heated arguments (with lots of bad words). The police were a regular sight in my last few months there. My upstairs neighbors were extremely noisy (esp. at night).
Parking is supposed to be regulated. But some tenants and their guests abuse the rules blatantly. Yet, the night security truck never deals with it. People sometimes block your car so you can't back out. But since security never picks up the phone, you can't complain to anyone. The normal management just says they'll take care of it. But they never do.
We had a leaky kitchen faucet. We reported it in September 2004. It was never fixed despite more than a dozen requests. The end result was that the leak caused the kitchen countertop to crack (it's kind of a cheap laminate type top). Unbelievably they said it was because of a Brita water filter that was on the kitchen tap. Their janitor installed it for us. As a result, they took our security deposit for the "damage." The apartment was left in tip-top shape otherwise.
They couldn't find the paperwork for our deposit for the gate remotes. So they took that deposit as well. Even though we had the remotes. And the deposits for the remotes was separate from the security deposit.
At the end of the day, the management left a very bad taste in my mouth. I hate that they stole my deposits. I don't like the fact that they would never fix anything. But I guess, it's good that I left because the complex itself was becoming less and less safe.
