Roaches, Ants, & Narcotics

The over all appearance of this place is appealing at first sight and the lake is absolutely beautiful, but due to teenagers and outside people visiting the lake, I never really felt safe enough to enjoy it. At night I would sit on my balcony on the second floor and would actually be able to witness drug deals going on by the lake. Teenagers and young adults smoked it up and drank down there at night as well. I felt safe during the day, but during the night I did not feel safe due to all of the outsiders lurking around the lake.
In regards to management, for the most part they were nice. We did not really encounter problems with them other than with our air conditioner. We had problems cooling our apartment during the summer and our electric bill ran $250 per month because our unit ran non stop. We had them check it and they told us nothing was wrong with it. I cannot see how a 1000 sq foot aparments electric bill would run so high. My house back home was 1300 sq feet and at the most ran $85 during the summer. It was miserably hot and really frustrating at night because it was so hot that we could not sleep. Also, we had ants which were out of control and roaches which we could not get rid of. Also, during the summer one of the water line's busted or something to that affect. We did not have water all weekend and could not take baths. It was nasty to say the least and they did not offer to knock off any on that months rent or anything due to the inconvenience it caused their residents. Last, but not least, the pool's (courtyard pool) pump had issues several times during that summer and the pool turned a nice shade of green therefore no one could use it until they decided to get it fixed. One time it took quite a while I would assume due to the expense it took to fix it.
It was expensive for us to get into this place and it was not at all what we had hoped for. We just recently rented an apartment at The Marquis at Legends and it only cost $300 for us to get in. The Marquis at Legends are much newer and very clean so it is hard for me to understand why the Water's of Northern Hills charged such an enormous deposit.
All in all, I do not recomment the Water's of Northern Hills. It was not at all what I had hoped for and seemed to go down hill in the short amount of time we were there. I would check out other places before making a final decision in regards to renting from them.
